    Hi peoples,

Ive been told/read somewhere that the 2seater is shorter that the 2+2.

I have looked at the side profile of the 2seater against the 2+2 and intersetcing points appear very close on both. The wheel arch points seem identical which would rule out a longer tail shaft.

If one is longer than the other it cant be too much longer.

As our dearest Pauline would say, "please explain!"

    regards

Yeah the 2 seater is short wheel base

I have a 2 seater i think they look a lot nicer, 2+2 looks too big for me. The fuel cap on the 2 seater is between the rear wheel and door, the 2+2 is behind the rear wheel. The car is longer from the back of the door, you'll notice the small traingular window is longer and so is the hatch, also infront and behind the rear wheels is longer.

The 2+2 is 40cm longer - two totally different cars... read on>>>

Hey I have an aussie spec 2+2.. (like all 2+2's)

it depends on taste. i like the 2+2 but i had no choice with the aussie spec as they are all 2+2, imports its upto what u find...

From the front doors, the 2+2 is a different car...

The the 2+2 has their petrol tank is behind the diff, not infront of the diff... the track is longer, the boot area is different... the hatch is longer, but less room in the boot.

The car is also 70kg heavier as it has a back seat and more steal. The back seat is kind of useless but a grown person around 85kg and 6ft tall can fit there for a long trip. - Ive tried it... and in any emergency.. the room is there somehow.. baby seats are possible so u can afford to keep the zed untill the kids are like ... 6 or 7... at least!!

In terms of Chassis dynamics... the 2+2 is better as the weight dist is more towards the rear, the length of the rear makes cornering better... much more ballanced car to place into the mid corner... less tail happy than a 2 seater.. UAS's track 300zx is a 2+2.. so why make a 100k track car when the 2 seater is better??? its just that the 2+2 is better chaissis to work with.

    Yes the tailshafts are longer..

AS it stands, I like the look of the 2+2 cos the length makes the car seem more beefy.. like a lambo or ferrari... the 2 seater looks more kicket up the ass as it is noticably shorter.

The only 2 good things about the 2 seater is just that.. its only 2 seats so its more like a "true sports car" ie ferrari or lambo... and its 70kg lighter - which is impotaint concidering a zed is a little bulky to start with... stereo boot installs are easier for a 2 seater...

Thats my $0.02.... i would get a 2+2 for all those reasons.

    Not quite 40cm longer...

    2+2 overall length = 4525mm
    2+0 overall length = 4305mm

So 220mm longer about 9" in the old language.

    Re: 2 seater v 2x2

Its your own opinion, but I rekon 2+2's are way better as you can stow stuff on the backseat convienently and they look better in their general body shape. They handle better I would rekon too.

I personally think the 2 seater looks more aggressive.

I do like the look of the 2+2, it is sleek and elegant, the 2 seater on the other hand has a more accentuated curvature and looks more aggressive.

The 2+2 wheel base is about 120mm longer than the 2 seater and a 220mm greater overall length. This gives the 2 seater a smaller rear overhang to improve hanging with the shorter wheelbase.

Interestingly though the 2 seater is about 8mm higher than the 2+2 adding to the curvature of the shape..

I do think the rear of the 2 seater looks a little short when there is no rear spoiler but can be balanced out when one is added.

    I much prefer..

the look of the 2 seater but there aint no way you can sleep in it as you can't recline the front seats far at all. Not good for those pissy nights you don't see coming!

    There is a difference

Look up the specifications on 300 zx.org.uk .It gives the difference in inches .

    2seat 2+2
    The o/a length is 169.5 " to 178.0"
wt 3299 lbs to 3413 lbs
    wheelbase 96.5 " 96.5" ( same )

The petrol filler flap position is the thing that stands out.

The wheelbase is not the same as stated in my post above

`The 2+2 wheel base is about 120mm longer than the 2 seater and a 220mm greater overall length. This gives the 2 seater a smaller rear overhang to improve hanging with the shorter wheelbase.'
