    Hi guys!

I hope someone has an idea of what is causing my problem? My car started pinging just recently so Ive tried octane boosters but with no luck. And yesterday my car started blowing a hell of a lot of smoke then stopped again... only to start again 10minutes later.

The smoke has been intermitted today also and will show at any acceleration but obviously worse under revs. I also get a burnt oil smell in the cabin when it happens and I've noticed my oil pressure to drop, only to rise again when the smoke clears.

A cold car gives my 3/4 on the pressure guage averaging to just under 1/2 when hot. But when (and around the time) the smoke starts it drops to near 0.

    Any ideas would be awsome!

ps. Compression test are between 125 - 145 with cylinder 6 being the lowest. The engine was fully rebuilt by the previous owner @pprox 25,000kms ago so this is quite diconcerting.

Edit: Oh, and today when I first started her the car dropped to running on 4cylinders for about 2 minutes which was quite a challenge to drive.

How long since you've checked the coil-packs and/or spark plugs

and get a second opinion/test of the compression.

What colour smoke? Worth getting a few opinions as the

colour can be difficult to discern. Typically, black smoke = rich fuel, white = condensation or in worst case head gasket and blue smoke is burning oil...

As red32 said, get a second opinion on the compression. The numbers aren't so concerning as long as each cylinder is similar to it's neighbour. 125 is low for a fresh motor though... A leak down test is much more efficient and getting that done by a pro like UAS or someone else who knows what they are doing before you think about pulling the engine.

PS: Also as red32 said, get your coilpack/injectors checked... If you have a couple coilpacks/wiring etc not working then unburnt fuel is just being send straight thru the exhaust which "might" explain the smoke...

    Thanks guys.

UAS did the compression test and John said 125 was ok for cylinder six.

Yes the smoke is blue and strongly smells of burnt oil so Im thinking more a mechanical fault. Would valve stem seals cause this? As I said its random and didnt do it once today, though yesterday was terrible!

UAS also suspected a leek in the drivers side turbo but I cant figure why it would be so random?
