I started my car this arvo to put it away and it started running really rough, hunting alot. If the engine was reved the rpm would lift to about 2000 then all of the passenger side cylinders would drop, rmp would drop then lift and the cylinders would drop out again. To me the cylinders seemed to be still getting fuel. I am assuming a ptu promblem.

I was wonder if there was anyone in toowoomba that has a type 1 ptu that I could put in my car to test.

    Thank you

    Might not be PTU related...

It sounds to me like MAF related...have you checked the error codes from the ECU, code 34 will be ign circuit, which'll point to PTU.

...Also as an after thought, series 2 will work just fine too...:zlove:

Pretty major one to be knocking you out like that? Thats why I pointed towards the MAF, if you've played around under the bonnet I'd be checking any intake hoses around there first. Your sucking alot of unmetered air in...

Did a vaccum leak test today, there is nothing.

If I go to start the engine now it will turn over a only a couple cylinders will fire not enough to keep it running. Can't find any plugs loose or anything like that.

    Have you checked error codes?

If your PTU has given up then you'll get code 34

re: just did it code13 temp senser circuit

unplug the battery to reset the ecu (bout half an hour) while your waiting clean the contacts on the water temp sensor. I can't really think why error code 13 would put it down that much, but it may be a problem you've had for a while and not noticed, but not the cause of your current dilema. Once this is cleared you may have another code behind it, maybe code 34 or something else.

    Jamie,

Give me a call on 46364903 (AH) or 0419648286 (W). I've got a type 1 ptu that you can try out.

    Cheers
    Pete
