    Hello all,

I recently picked up my zed and i have a niggling issue which i think i am needing all your combined expertise.

The issue i am having is that my accelerator sticks at times, it doesn't do it all the time, but when it does, well constant acceleration is not good in the city of roandabouts.

I have had it looked at and they said they lubed the cable and it should be right as rain, but it isn't. Has anyone else had similar issues or ideas as to what can be done to fix? My car is going back to the mechanics tomorrow but i would prefer it if i could fix it in the meantime.

    Cheers,
    Drew.

    One thing to check.......>>

At the front of the inlet rocker covers are the two hard pipes for the front half of the PCV system. These have been known to work loose on a few cars and can jam down near the throttle bodies.

    I will check this later,

Is there anything else you think it could be? Just so that i can check as much as possible when i go home at lunch time.

    accelerator checks

Divide the accelerator system into 4 parts and check
    each part for clues.

    1. Is the pedal ok? ie: pivots smoothly and is not getting caught up in wiring etc.
    2. Try moving throttle at throttle bodies or linking rod. is it smooth all through travel? Is there any thing fouling any rotating part?
    3. The cable. Is it positioned so there are no sharp bends or signs of visible damage.
    4. Cruise control (if fitted)

its enough to shit you to tears

i had the same problem witch resulted in a full 360 in the middle of a buisy intesection and a rapid drive for 300m up the road resulting in 3hrs of me shacking with fear, after 3 cans of crc and lots of light manered speaking i found the problem sloved with a 5c zip tie, the hard pipe on the middle of the plenum on the right had moved out of its hold and was rubbing the right throttle body the rong way, pushed it back in and ziped it, problem solvered.
