Make sure you get a urethane front bar ....

Stillen, Wings West or 2000 model are available in urethane in Australia. I believe that there is also a Gracer copy available as urethane in the US.

The ask wykked or RedZedMikey abouth the advantages of urethane front bars.

I dont think that Urethane bars are a must, I personally am going for......

Fibreglass on my car, urethane is A HELL of alot more expensive than fibreglass. Not only that but the majority of kits are fibreglass and cant be boughht as urethane.

Just go for fibreglass and keep your costs down.!

Some places in melb that i know of and have been to are:

    - I.Q. Auto - 20 Foden Avenue, Cambellfield. 93085591
    - Fibretech Auto Styling - 50 Killara Road, Cambellfield - 93579530
    - Look in the trading post under [Accecories] theres a few places there aswell.

    Hope it helped.

    Cheers, Maciek :thumbsup::LOL::thumbsup:

    If you do get fibreglass

Ask the bodykit shop to add more glass to it. Mine lasted almost 2 years in a paper thin state, the car was already lowered by an inch and the front bar did have more overhang than the stock one. It also took a lot of punishment with no cracking.

You will just have to angle the car going up driveways and stay clear from gutters.

PS. When mine did break, it costed around $480 to repair, respray the whole bar, new mesh and make stronger. The urethane one I was looking at, at the time that I semi-liked, was over $1300, just for the bar.

    fibre glass

Definatly get the company who ever fits your kit to beef up the glass work, this will most probably be a costly exerise. I have bought a kit for my z to, it would have cost me a fortune if I was paying some one to fit it, lucky I can do it myself, have completely changed the look of my kit as well well as added durabilty. I have used 2 part polyurthene foam, extra fibreglass and folded the edges of my kit. Which means instead of having ground off edge's they are rolled to prevent warping, it gives a better paint finish as well, because you can't see any daggy edges.

So buy a decent kit, or find out if your friends can fibre glass.

I am going into building fibre glass kits, I live in Toowoomba QLD though. Anyone would wants to learn a bit about fibreglass or how to custom your kit is welcome to get in touch, I will be glasing up my kit for a month or to yet to get the look I am after.

    To each their own

I actually think the 2000 spec front bar looks a lot better than these riduculous space age body kits you see around these days, with noteable exceptions being the stillen and westwings kit. Thumbs up for the 2000 front bar, I dont want my zed to look like a UFO.

    Cheers

2000 bar with bomex side skirts looks good like Risk's Z

Add the bomex rear skirt thing as well and it would look complete.

    Fully agree dude....but.....

I just think that for the amount of money that your going to spend that you get something that stands out and looks dramatic. Ie. Bomex, veilside, wingwest.

Risk's zed is a pure statement of class and beauty and as scotty said, all he has is a 2000 front bar and bomex skirts.

Personally, I want my zed to look like nothing else on the street.

    Egg ....

    For that amount of money....?

What else can you get for $750 delivered that's urethane?
My front bar is fourteen years old and ready to replace.
At $300- $400 to get it fitted and painted properly I can't understand the logic of FG which will need constant repairs and toch ups.
But hey, each to their own. :) I think the Velside fascias are pig ugly. :)
