Thanks to those people for their advice on obtaining a replacement radiator fan as an alternative to Nissan's $340 option. Anyway I contacted conceptzperformance and they quoted $55 US plus $50 - $60 postage ( I also asked them to include a hood grommet and front disc brake overhaul kit. I said that I could pay by a Union Pacific cheque which anybody can buy at an Australian Post Office but they said that they only accept credit card or cashiers cheque (Union Pacific cheques are as safe as houses but they don't take them!). Anyhow does anyone know how you can get a cahiers cheque (what are they?). Also how safe is buying "stuff" from them over the Internet using your credit card and how does one do it?. (We have only just got a virgin credit card for emergencies with a $5000 limit on it and have never bought anything with it. We pay by personnal cheque or cash (we're from the Middle Ages)). Any comment would be gratefully accepted. Clive.

    Cashiers check = Bank check.

    Egg ....

    Union Pacific?

    Isn't that a railroad?
You mean Western Union? this is a cashiers cheque service!
Use the CC, these days it's completely safe as most websites are highly encrypted... and if someone rips you off you're covered regardless.
Got to take the plunge sometime. :)

If you dont want to use your CC then you could

buy a bank draft which is a 'cashiers cheque' drawn on a US bank payable in US dollars. (ie it would be the same as a local cashiers cheque to conceptz)

Western Union money orders are available

at most (if not all) Aussie Post Offices. Credit cards offer the advantage of payment being instant instead of waiting for your MO to arrive by post. I'm not sure if Western Union money orders would be as acceptable as cashiers checks.
