I have been looking up stuff recently for a brake upgrade. Was reading through the DBA online catalogue and found out the product no. are the same. This led me to conclude that all 3 cars have the same calipers and rotors, is this true?

    Cheers

If thats the case then this is cause for concer

I have looked at UAS website for the 300zx brake upgrade kit. This includes the 324mm rotor and the caliper bracket to fit the original caliper.

This kit is priced at $895.

Now if you ever noticed, looking at the skyline/gtst products section on the UAS site, you can buy the same style kit where you get the 324mm rotors with the caliper bracket.

    Skyline gtst

Theis kit is priced at $795

Now i may be wrong but i have come to the conclusiong that the two cars, zed and gtst32 have the same brakes, therefore the upgrade kit will be the same.

But why is UAS charging $100 more for the zed kit...

    somethings smells fishy:unsure:

    regards

    Because they can!

I don't know, give John a ring and ask him what the difference is, before this turns into another UAS bashing.

What if the GTST32 price is wrong?

Will you be happy to see it increased to $895?:p

My understanding is that there are differences between the two kits (specifically with the Caliper Adaptors), but you would be far better putting this question to John at UAS.
Just for the record, Nissan sell parts labelled for the Z32, at a higher price than they do for the same parts shared by other Nissan products. More fishy smells?:eek:

    Might be different

    at least with R32 GTSt.

I am under the impression that the R32 GTSt Type M has slightly larger brakes than the standard version. The larger ones being the ones that are the same or similar brakes to the Z32s.

Could be wrong but may be worth checking.

    you're right, but...

yes, the R32gtst Type M has the same brakes as the Z32, whilst the 'non-type m' (if you want to call it that) only has 2-pot fronts and 1-pot rears.

i am yet to see an R32gtst that is not a type M and a number of us on the SAU forums (www.skylinesaustralia.com) believe that type M is all that exists :)

you will be able to get more info over on SAU.

    good luck!

    Well

Firstly we have different manufacturer of the two adpaters and different prices. The GTS-T kit was introduced later and rotors were cheaper. They are different although possible one kit will fit both and will look into this amoungst many other things I have on the list.
Also we did a group buy on these for AUS300ZX about 6 months ago for $760 which at the time was not much of cost. We did not do for Skyline Forum.
When we first introduced this kit years ago the rotors were much more expensive and have come down a lot and continue to as Jap imports have grown and economies of numbers kick in.
By the way we only sell these kits as complete with rotors, which may irritate some.
Also if you check this link below you will see same rotors as GTS-T and Zed big brake kit that fit factory R33 and R34 GTR at $795 a pair for ROTORS only. This was a bit below rec retail at the time about a year ago. They are now much less and will need to change our price on our site. We update our site almost everyday and I am sure there are other incorrect prices most being less but some more. It is a big job to keep current.

Good to get feed back though and we do get emails every now and then for similar price issues or incorrect links etc. You can always talk to us re price or other and we try to give advice to our customers as added service.

ah, it all seems clear again

Thank you John for clearing things up.

It was only chance that i found out the brakes were the same, this led me to research the current market for the rotors and calipers that led me to get confused.

    Cheers

    Talking brakes

If you want big brakes I guess you don't want to know I just sold my monsters to Richard down in Melbourne with the white ZTT that JPC built now with BIG HP. The one that was featured in ZOOM or was it HPI a while back. Price was $2300 for 6 piston calipers with 365mm two piece rotors machined with new plated centre bolts for the centre hat securing the disc, complete with alloy adapters, braided lines and a new spare set of pads, delivered. Cheap hey?
I am going Porsche 6 piston mono block and new heat treated rotors.

nah not really cheap for second hand

For those interested in big brakes, the very well known Stoptech big brake kits (fronts) with 13" rotors, SS lines, brakes pads and motul brake fluid are $1750US at conceptzperformance at the moment. Not listed on the site but just email coz for this price.

    yeah the stoptecs are awesome

had mine on for about 5 months now and combined with the race tyres, braking can now be done ridiculously late and hard, I love them.
