    People,
Im looking towards getting a 300zxTT soon.
My only question is: What are peoples feelings about the 2 seater as opposed to the 2+2?
Ive heard that the 2 seaters are very tail happy and willing to snap around on you in the wet. Is this a true indication or is it purely just people being a little too gung-ho for their own good?
    Thanks....

It's a bit of both. 2+2 is considered a better handler.

2nd day of owning my zed it had just slightly rained over night and was just drizzling. I dropped my girlfriend off at the train stop 830am city traffic
Went to accel and merge into the flow of traffic and the tailed picked up and went sideways on me so I was pointing back towards the gutter. Luckily due to the low speed it was easily corrected

The car come with brand new falken 17" 235's so it wasn't bad rubber. And yes I own a 2 seater :D

    falken aint good enough

Try Eagle F1 GS-D3. You'll see how hard to lose the tail in a set of these at the rear end.

By the way, which one holds better value, 2 seater or 2+2?

There seems to be heaps of 2 seater in Australia while in NZ we got heaps of 2+2 and 2 seaters are rare as.

Yeah, I own a 2 seater and out of respect

to tsunami, I've had no problems in the wet...People probably being gung-ho:p Granted that suspension set up would play a role as well as tire choice, but if you have the wheels turned to the left or right in a rear wheel drive, power-on oversteer kinda car, of course it's gonna give a bit of a flick, as I'm sure anyone with boost could testify to...and even some with NAs.
2+2s probably have a tad more weight over the rears, and therefore give it a bit more stability, in the rear end.

    Longer Wheelbase

This plays a big part in the stability

I dont know how old you are....

but the only regret I have of getting a 2 seater is that one day in the future I wont be able to put little "jedi's" in the back. Besides that, no probs at all.

    Cheers

A 2+2 will always be a little more practical ...>>

The back seat can be used for a dog, extra luggage space, carry a friend or two (short distances), children upto 12 years....

Neither the 2 seater or 2+2 have held their values, but the 2 seaters are usually cheaper.

Falken make some very sticky tyres ....>>

they also make cheap tyres that should last longer.

The Falken ZE326 are made to last but don't grip very well. While Falken ST115 won't last as long but provide plenty of grip.

I'm sure Goodyear also make a less performance tyre too.

id go the coupe - and did :p

the back seat of the 2+2 might come in handy for carrying some extra stuff, and maybe if u had to squeeze an extra person in the zed (no way would there be enough room behind the driver).... but personally i like the coupe - plenty of room in the front - enough space to fit most things...

the zeds a sports car, not a shopping trolly... if u need/want a backseat buy a skyline :p

Depends on what you are looking for...

yeah the 2 seater from my experience is pretty loose in the tail end but I don't have the best rubber on there anyway. It has stepped out on me once and only once when I didn't expect it and I got out of it fairly lightly, in that situation there was no warning it just went in an instant. Usually you get some sort of an indication when its about to go but I'm not sure if its the rubber or just these cars in general but when it goes, it goes.

I think the 2 seater from a looks perspective looks heaps nicer... I hate the stretched look of the 2+2 with a passion, just doesn't look right.

I guess its more handy to have an extra couple of seats but depends if you will need them or have much of a use for them? Plus its a sports car... who cares if it only had 1 seat... not me.

    I had NO choice

Not that it was a problem as I prefer the long, sleek look of the 2+2 as opposed to the short, stubby 2 seater.

I am 6'7" (198cm) and cannot fit comfortably in a 2 seater, even worse if i'm down the drags with a helmet on!

Plus the extra room in the back is great for hiffing crap over your shoulder ;)

    Cheers

The way I look at it :zlove:

Sorry cant comment tooooooooooooo much on the technicalities of driving and slips between 2 seater vs 2+2.

    But can say:-

At least when you have a 2+2, when you need the extra seating for passengers, you've got it.
Same for the extra space, like when travelling.

But with a 2 seater you will always be limited.

If you were a single person with no intentions of ever getting a partner or having friends be in the car with you, then I would say the 2 seater would be fine.
But like most Zed Lovers, we have friends and partners and love Zedding about. :zlove:
Why limit the joys you have ahead of you.

Get a 2+2 and I doubt you will ever regret it. ( Ive not spoken to any 2+2 owner who wished they'd brought the 2 seater) Whereas I have met many 2 seater owners who have commented that on occassion they wished they'd had the xtra room of the 2+2.
The practicalities of life, will mean from time to time, YOU WILL NEED/LIKE/ENJOY/APPRECIATE THE EXTRA SPACE.

    ;)
