My Zed is so much faster than all those other vehicles on the road. Zoom Zoom...Doof doof hey...? why is everyone going so slow? I'm blitzing them! Must be my twin turbo power and chromies!or maybe my speedo isn't quite as accurate as I had hoped. I'd heard that the speedo wasn't dead accurate and with 300 kph dials I expected some degree of error. So I grabbed an APEXI RSM (rev speed meter) off of ebay last week and whacked it in this week. So after calibrating the unit and factoring in my 18" rims and tyres (which are 6% larger than stock rim/tyre combo) I went for a test drive.I haven't taken her out on the freeway yet but when the speedo reads 60 kph the RSM flashes up 68 kph. And 65 kph is actually approaching 75kph which pushes me into the 2nd speeding bracket! I'm counting my lucky stars I haven't had a ticket yet.So about the RSM unit. Very easy to install. I mounted mine on top of the right hand pod so it is very easy to view and lower enough that it does not obstruct the view out of the windscreen.Hello blue screen of rice and goodbye speed limiter. Also, being an engineer I just love seeing live data and being able to record and view 60 seconds of speed, or maybe just me revving in the driveway (for K-Zed - that goes Vrooom...Pshhhhhh!!!) 0-100 kph times here I come. Gotta aim for that magic number QLDers.Happy speeding!Cheers MikeZClick Here for details on the Apexi RSM
u use the rsm to disable the speedlimiter? > was it hard to do? my rsm is installed (with g sensor) but it hasnt disabled the speed limiter ::Risk::
There are 2 options... (1) Splice ECU speed sensor to feed signal to RSM. This will allow the ECU to govern speed limiter(2) Cut ECU Speed sensor wire and hook up RSM as part of the circuit. This allows the RSM to govern the speed limiter. The wiring instruction on the Apexi web site give the wiring diagrams for both options if you want to investigate doing option 2.Cheers MikeZ
All is explained... HereThanks. In QLD we like to think that the more silver you have, the better the results.Cheers MikeZ
Because all their brain cells are >> being used on silly grins & saliva dribbling from the corners of their mouths. 8D Ducking for cover....NOW!}D
Hey Mike.... Did you purchase your Zedder about three years ago from a car yard in Brissy?????Looking at the detailing inside, it looks identicle to a Zed I test drove!! I must say it was very nice!!!
OK, what benefit gained by having a light to shift around, at least, I assume that is what it is. Grinning and salavating while they're doing it, must be shifting it long distances in their zed. Are they similar to the flashing lights on top of emergency vehicles? They shift don't they? Does one need to have one of these if one grins and salavates while driving their zed? (I just grin, a lot, does that count?)
Depends on why your grinning. The shift light comes on to tell you when it's time to change gear(something we had to learn for ourselves, when I learnt to drive.8-} )
Nope she's been in Oz for just over 2 years and was stock when she came out. The interior was changed last year.Cheers MikeZ
This is for K-Zed's benefit... can we install a shift light for an auto? I'll send one in the post to K-Zed along with his BOV CD.MikeZ
It's a conspiracy! Gang up on >>> K-zed WEEK is it? Btw: got some special CD's now ... can blow silver manuals away without even blinking!
If you got an rsm then why not wire a shift light to it? may as well use all the features that come with it.:YD
Rob, silver Zeds are easy to blow away >>> They are carrying so much extra weight from all the nickers thrown at them :YD .
