Hello,I have a 94 NA J-Spec Z.Just wondering why this would happen, whenever i turn off the engine, both driver and passenger belts pull back on the shoulder strap and i hear a relay click twice, is this supposed to happen, its as though its some sort of testing or something, there are no lights on the dash however....any ideas?
Strange> my mates '96 180sx does the same. Noticed it tonight while out cruising. Have no idea about it either
Do the Air Bag models have... ...seatbelt impact pre-tensioner? Or maybe linked to the Japside idiot light to put on your belt?
Auto tensioner?? Some seats have them. Check your seats and see if there is a wire running from the seatbelt base (the clicky thing that the thing-emy-bob goes into ). Mine have them tho mine isnt connected to anything as it is only a 1990 Model and I think only later models came with them (optional?).
I also have the wires in the seat belt locking mechanisms. I thought that in an event of an accident they would pull the seatbelt tight to stop you from moving forward.Does this not function in the 90s TT?, is it a gimmic? If it is, i'd be dissapointed as I quite like the principle. Can someone confirmPeter
I also, have the same thing happen! it stumped me too . i noticed it straight away ... and as you said , it only does it when you turn off the engine ....im very interested in finding out why it does it aswell :?)
mine locks whenever im not on flat ground wh ich is what its meant to do. i.e accident or roll the car etc, but i have no clicking at all.
Haven't noticed that promblem in my late 94 model Zed & yes I do still have the OEM belts, usally I take the belt off before the engine turns off (turbo timer) but I have noticed that relay clicking sound when you latch the seatbelt.Andrew
