Yeah that's right my pride and joy was in a car sandwich today. Got rear ended by a new commodore at about 60km (didn't even hit the skids) which threw me into the taxi in front. I was stationary with the car in front of the taxi in front of me doing a right hand turn. It was just after a traffic light so maybe the commodore spead up to get through i don't know. With that sort of impact I'm hoping the chassy isn't bent and it's not a write off. There are bends in both rear quarter panels to the door which gives an indication of the impact. The front end is mechanically ok i think but bonnet, all lights, front bar and panel and quarter panels are toast. I have a wings west bodykit that i only installed a few months ago and surprisingly stood up to the task with flying colours. It hadn't even cracked front or rear, just bent, but all need replacement. A fibreglass bar would have shattered for sure and caused further extensive damage, I like urethane. I just wish some people would pay a little more attention to thier driving and to other road users! Cheers Hayden P.S The only good thing is that i am ok whgich is the main thing i guess!
That isn't good.......>> If it has creased the quarter panels then it has probably bent the chassis. Sorry.
Hope not but that's probably the case although i did lie a bit in my original post. There is only a bend on passenger side just behind door. It will be assessed on friday. I don't want another car or zed! I just want mine back! %(
nasty. even if chassis isn't bent i'm guessing with that much damage that it will still be considered a total loss write off. Good luck.
Maybe... The front is ok as my zed took the brunt at the back and kinda wedged under the back of the taxi in front. Time will tell!
Sorry to hear. The same thing... The same thing happened to me a few years back. Some idiot in a Hyundai came screaming up behind me in the wet and pushed me into a Commodore in front of me. I was stationary at the time, and had been for about 30 seconds. The idiot got out of his car and said, "I was going to swerve." I think I said something along the lines of, "Then why the f@#k didn't you !!?" My guard was bowed out on the passenger side, the bumpers where damaged and the exhaust was stuffed. I'm not sure if the subframe was bent but the panel beaters fixed it (1 month!). In the end it was as good as new though. Hope things work out well for you. Sorry to hear dude.... I hope it all gets sorted out ok. IN the end, if the zed is really badly damaged, it may pay to just get the insurance money and get another one. Painful I know.
Same happened to me.... Bloody Commodore drivers!!! 6 weeks and counting and still waiting to get it fixed...NOT happy jan!
Sorry to hear this news But the main thing is youre ok i know its hard to swallow but you can always but always replace the car not a person good luck on outcome:YD
Like you said.... the most important thing is your ok. It frustrates me also that others dont take care on the roads. The fact he didnt even brake means he obviously wasnt paying any attention. Scary who we share our roads with.
