My rims where very dull and not shiny and had lots of stuff on them, little water marks etc that wouldn't come off with any thing, Then my friend had some of this at his house and we tired it and it was brilliant, made the rims turn into mirrors!!!!

If you have rims like mine I Highly recommend it !!! 8DYou can get it from SuperCheap - and Repco I think. [image]http://members.iinet.net.au/~mwv/300zx/rimpolish1.jpg[/image]

Bit of elbow grease needed, but...

Nothing too hard if you could get a small buff or some thing for a drill it would happen a lot easier I just did it by hand and with a cloth, took a while but the results speak for them self :)

    Yep it's great stuff

but I don't know what it would do to wheels with a clear coat, so be careful.Ben

use the Autosol with cotton wadding and

it makes the job easier. I've always used this method for polishing, the cotton wadding is in a yellow tin, I can't remember the brand though.

No, stock rim has painted finish...>>

You'd need to remove the paint sand and polish the wheel before you could use this.

    Cotton Wadding brands

Believe it or not the company that makes the cotton
wadding in the yellow tin is called Mazerati. No Idea if it's related to the car company but I can
second the notion that the wadding is good stuff.

I've been using this for 30 years, >

( and boy am I tired. BOOM! BOOM!), but each time it is mentioned on this forum, someone "bags" it in favour of some other product.:(

    Mothers Mag and Aluminium Polish

I haven't used Autosol but I had my stock rims highly polished by the Wheel Factory. Polisher specifically recommended Mothers and said that AUTOSOL was harsher and more likely to scratch the finish. As I said, I have no experience with Autosol but Mothers does a great job - for what it's worth.cheers,Peter

Don't be so sensitive about it,Chili:s

... it happens to us all, just quicker for some than others.
Having never had the pleasure of meeting you yet and judging by some of your replies, I'd estimate your age at 108:-0 How far off am I?

Correct! Be very careful using it...

on a mirror finish. I've spent hours with this stuff on my bike frame (polished aluminium). If you buff too hard IT WILL leave swirls. On the tube it recommends another product for mirror finishing.. haven't seen it in oz though.
