Remove the stuffed rear wing and used red cloth tape to cover up the holes for now.[image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rowatt/aus300zx/nudezed.jpg[/image]
nah - tried for a few hours to get it out but it didn't want to budge so I gave up and just ground the restrictors out of the section I removed and then reinstalled with them with only 3 bolts instead of 4. I'll just have to get my new exhaust done quicker now.
any incentive helps!!! hey !:YD I still think you're a masochist for wanting to construct your exhaust system by hand, but then everyone's gotta have a hobby!
I did the same, and I like it... ..makes the lines smoother, and you can always get a different wing later:[image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/rear-large.jpg[/image]
Hmm... I don't know... Two opinions really > From the top, like the picture you have as your avatar Rob... That's dead sexy. i love it. Awesome picture. =)However, from the sides, I've never been a fan of a wingless Z, only reason being is I think it needs the duck bill spoiler, or at least an F40 style that contours BACK a little, to compensate for the lip sticking out the bottom..Just personal opinions By the way, Rob... Is that Pearl White you have there? Please give me some more details on your paint... I love it. Need to find out more about these white Z's. =) :-Z
You've got to be shitting me.. (?) > All that weight when I lift my boot... it's the little duck bill? Damn. I thought it was the boot itself.
Not THAT heavy, most is in the boot lid itself, and the OEM spoiler is not too bad at all.I agree the top lip should at least extend a little past the boot lid to mirror the rear bar, so am looking at making a drag style GT wing that sits almost level with the top of the boot, but extends about the same amount as my current Bomex spoiler. It's all just a matter of taste but.
mmmm Personaly i'm not a fan of the spoiler-less Z definately upsets the aesthetic look of the rear end. I think they look too bare without the spoiler.
Was it the one off the dump pipes? That one broke on mine, ended up drilling it out (read 2 hours under the car with damm sharp drills getting covered with hot metal!!!Then a bolt and nut setup deployed with a couple of spring washersHope that helps. We tried ezy outs with no luck at all.
1999 Fairlady Z... I cannot take the credit for that picture, it is actually from the 1999 Fairlady Z catalogue (see below). The paint code for my 1990 Aus Spec Z is 326, and according to TTzed's of Dallas, this was just know as White (there are other whites depending on the year: Yellowish White, White Pearl, Super White, Glacier White):Color Combinations & Serial NumbersHope this helps :YD [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z1.jpg[/image] [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z2.jpg[/image] [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z3.jpg[/image] [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z4.jpg[/image] [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z5.jpg[/image] [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z6.jpg[/image] [image]http://members.optusnet.com.au/rbarciko/300zx/99z7.jpg[/image]
don't have a figure but oem spoiler... must weigh a fair bit. Before removing mine, it took a fair bit of effort to lift the rear hatch, now it almost lifts up by itself.
Newly converted! Hey JT, saw your wingless Z out at Willowbank on Saturday when I was out there with MikeZ and Co, AWESOME! (Those front brakes rock as well!)I just got myself a Z and was in the process of finding a new rear wing to replace the old bubbly one... until I saw your Z. Now I'm looking for an entire slickback section!
Looks sweet Chewy! =) I'm starting to prefer the wingless (or slickback) look more than the winged look these days. Very stylish! :YD So are you gunna stick with the "nude" look?! hehe
Your car looks great wingless JT! Saw it at Willowbank on Saturday arvy... NICE! It goes hard too! hehe }D
