In the JGTC (Japanese GT Championship) the Nissan works cars for the past few years have all been GTR's. This year Nissan have replaced the GTR with a works version of the 350Z ... powered by a twin-turbo 3 litre version of the VQ motor :YD in the top class, GT500. In the lower class, GT300, they are still racing the non-turbo 3.5 litre version of the VQ.The weekend just gone was round 1 of the championship, and the race was one by one of the 350Z's - followed home by 4 Supras. Total of 4 Z's and 5 Supras in the top 9, with a Twin-turbo NSX in 10th. Bugger, wish this series was shown on Foxtel - could be enough to make me subscribe!Unfortunately for us here in Oz, we won't see the TT version come here for 2 reasons: 1) It is deemed too fast for the Bathurst 24 hour race, and therefore cannot be entered. Only the GT300 class cars are eligible. 2) Timing clashes betwwen their championship and the 24 hour race - same thing again this year, their final race is the same day as the 24 hour :x :`( :N(. Chicks Chicks and more Chicks Where the V8's have a few Grid Girls the JGTC has 2 or more Race Queens per team. They also have Race Queens for the other events like Formula Nippen, GT300, GT500, the motorbikes and of cause the Autosaloons, Motorshows and other events. :YD Any one guess why I like the Japanese ..... Cars. :YD
Yeah - know what you mean >>> They haven't put a photo gallery up for round 1 yet - but last year they would have about 40 race/paddock/pit pix + 40 grid girl pix :YD :YD :YD for each race.
i see Wayne Gardner is racing a Supra rather was.... in the JGTC, i reckon he's got a few tickets on himself after reading his interview :N(
So true... ...he really gives the impression that he is better than everyone else - quite a different contrast to other interviews I've seen of Gardner so thats quite disappointing.He was at the top of touring car racing in Australia? What... he won a few races here and there, but I wouldn't say he was that much better than everyone else - nor say that the skill level wasn't that high!
