Avoid at ALL COSTS the small 2 level car park on Lt. Londsdale St near the corner of Williams St.I managed to scrape up the front of the Z, the middle underside and one of the rear mufflers (SPEWING.... words can't even begin to describe my mood on the way home, stuck in 2 hours of traffic didn't help). Each occured 4 times, 2 on the way up, and then I had to dread going back down again at the end of the day. I really shouldn't have gone up there, I knew there would be trouble but for some reason I wasn't thinking. Made a complaint to the guy there (he said 'Nice car' when I came in) and he argued (rightly) that my car was too low, but why didn't he warn me as it was obvious there would be problems. Literally while he was saying this a stock yellow Boxter scraped up it's front pretty badly in front of us, and a TE Magna (practically 4wd's) only JUST made it.When I was on the first level I had already done some damage, there were no parks so I decided to leave rather than go up another level. With cars where they were and the turning circle of the Z it was truly impossible (I got out of the car twice to see how close the front corner was to walls) to go down without going up unless I wanted to scrape a wheel on a gutter (NOT going to happen). The place was ridiculous. I also spent a few minutes helping a lady in an EF Falcon get out with maybe an 11 point turn, it was so tight. Anyway, be warned, as soon as you see the ramps you'll know it's bad news.... like I said, I knew it would be bad but still went.... idiot. The bottom of one of the cans scraped, I haven't had the chance with all this rain to get underneath and have a good look, it's cosmetic, I REALLY hope it won't be visible from the rear, only underneath. Front is probably pretty bad (dark when I got home) but that bar's not staying on, middle, who knows.... I felt the floor and seat move, not good, I pray it was the rail which was scraping and not the exhaust. It was dark when I got home and frankly I just don't want to look as I have such a bad sinking feeling of what I'll find under there. Felt crap all day today thinking about it. Took the Magna this time, suddenly I am SO turned off driving the Z into town.Ben

damned Car Parks are only interested in squeezing in as many cars as possible. Some of the ones in inner Sydney are so low roofed, that Tarago type vans. tear the roof on Sprinkler Systems.:x :x :x Cheers mate

    Damn that sux ben

As for the seat get pushed like a vibratetion, its the exhuast pipe. I know because my car does it when i go in my drive way, maybe i should start angle grinding the bit of cement there lol. Any way i wouldnt worry too much about the centre part ofthe ehxaust it has a bit of slack to move around, especially if you have a exhaust flex pipe fitted. Doubt it crack your pipe or break a leak some where. Look on the bright side at least you didnt ahve your 2000 jspec one on. As for the rear mufflers, lets hope for the best.

I've been looking for a house to move into and brisbane in most parts is hilly so the driveways are all over the place. Makes it hard to find a driveway a 1" lowered Zed will get up but finally found one. It makes you want to not do a hell of a lot with the paint work when that sort of shit happens.

I broke my front bar in a similar car park

I know how you feel, Ben.
    ... here's a story to show you I empathise:

For those that can remember a few years ago, I used to drive around with a fibreglass front bar. It had all these bits of black tape covering the cracks.
I kid you not! about 3-4 weeks after I had it painted and fitted, ( it looked great!) I was stupid enough to go into a multilevel car park in Chinatown, off little Bourke st.
Plenty of free spaces, and lots of room to drive around..

Anyhow, I decided to park with the front of the car up against a wall. I remember rolling into the parking spot, doing no more than walking pace.
When all of a sudden - CRUNCH! The sound of cracking fibreglass in a confined space is like a bomb going off.
I stopped straight away and jumped out to have a look. Each of the parking spots had a block of concrete bolted to the ground, about a metre-and-a-half away from the wall. I gather it's there to stop stupid people from hitting the wall with their cars.
Well, the front bar didnt clear it by an inch.
    ... who looked stupid then?

     :s :s :`( :`( :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
Maybe us who live in "the sticks" should stay out of the "big smoke" ?

    Try parking at crown

Its a bit of a walk but its flat rate $5 or $8 depending on which side you park, but there are no steep driveways or speed humps.Having said that still not sure I would like to leave the Z unattended there all day, so guess you cant win.RegardsMark

    Commiserations Ben...

However with your experience at driving the Zed, you should have realized that there was a possibility that damage could be done. Should of taken the Magna.
    Hope it's not too bad.

    Update... I got lucky

front bar: plenty of paint taken off, a fiberglass bar would have been a write off.middle of car: haven't looked that close but I'd say the rail took it.... aside from the cats that area of the exhaust is actually not the lowest pointmuffler can: scraped at the bottom ( :( they were perfect) but it shouldn't be visible unless you are under the car.Could have been much worse.Ben
