Who has a copy of the latest Zoom mag. In the letters page Martin absolutely canes the z32 for poor everything. Very up setting to read.:x
Zoom, pffft> that magazine has about 80% of its pages dedicated to ads. i put Zoom in the same category as HPI
Well when your custom mid engined beauty >>> is finished, and seen on track or at car shows, and Zoom want to do an article on it, tell 'em where to go ... so long as there's another more respectable mag (Speed, maybe) that will show all of us what you've achieved.
as long as they get paid -> they will say whatever they want! at least we dont have to change much to achieve high K'watts, or have to do like an RB26/2JZ engine swap to get good results ....well thats my 2 cents :><
Which issue? I just got the one with the yellow civic on the cover, issue 67. Was it in 66 or did I buy an old one?
Sorry dont have the issue number but its the one with the Black JPC vl on the front, as well as a subzero s13 with pumped rear guards. Its in the letters to the editor section. The guy is pretty clueless and seems to go by other people's opinions as you really dont have an opinion until you own one. The guy with the problems unfortunately have not met us which is what he really needs, not a guy that sits behind the desk getting appraisil for being the secondary source of information. Note he claims he has had endless trouble with the car yet some of them are basic service stuff that any car needs. BTW ben i need to give you the ptu back so ill call you sometime this week. And im pretty sure this is the newest issue of zoom because i just got it in the mail recently.
I was wondering if you still had it forgot if you'd given it back or not. There's no rush to get it back, but be warned you could get the dreaded "such-and-such is stuck on the Eastern freeway and needs the spare PTU" call Ben
I keep saying "email them"... the more people that let them know they're talking out of their a*ses, the more likely they are to take notice. Its always just Donnon's opinion shining through. And remember that HPI & Zoom are by the same company.zoom@expresspublications.com.auHere's the reply I got from the editor last time I complained (note I never saw any follow up).... -------- Hello Paul. I can assure you that any negative comments about the VG30DETT are personal opinions of Martin Donnon our tech editor, and not that of ZOOM magazine in general. My only gripe about the VG30 and any V motor in fact, is that they can be bloody awkward to work on. Just wait for the Z32 that we will have soon (if the piston ever arrive). I have forwarded your comments to Martin and I will pass on his response to you directly as well as publish it in the mag. ---------
