My Z is a 1995 Aus Complied 2+2 z-32 . Can anyone out there direct me as to the location of the FPCU and what steps to take to actually get to it . I have some mechanical knowledge , and any amount of tools but I am NOT familiar with the above, and any detailed explanation to the questions would be greatly appreciated The car is not pumping fuel per undoing fuel line at fuel filter .Pump relay tests OK, so I am thinking FPCU or fuel pump is faulty .so I am in the elimination phase . Trusting someone out there can assist me on this .
The FPCU is located on your passenger side under the rear seat. Easy enough to lift it out by sliding your hands down the back and pulling up to unclip it, then doing the same along the front edge. ( Thats from memory, been a while ) There’s a bit of a writeup here https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/FPCU_Bypass_(2x2) on it, and includes how to bypass it ‘temporarily’ if you’re trying to fault find an issue. ( I should add I’ve not done this myself though at any time ). I believe alternatively if you run an earth from the top of the fuel pump you can bypass the fpcu that way to rule it out , but I’ll leave others on here to detail how exactly thats done. Additionally there’s an article in the tech section on how to repair the fpcu by replacing some or all of the power transistors ; not hard to do if you’re handy with a soldering iron . Good luck.
Thanks Andy for your reply, I will wait a day or so to see if anyone else has anything to add ( as you suggested ) The more info I can get, the better it is, because I’m new at this too .
Also,, if you use the FSM that I mentioned in the other post. The EF & EC section. Page 150 of that section shows you how to diagnose fuel problem. If you don't have a multi-meter to test connections. Super cheap auto and the like sell affordable ones
