Cheers @MickW , to be fair that photo was taken directly after a wash. Thankfully there are plenty of decent examples on this forum, it's nice to see them all!
* S1 front bar with the manta ray slits are distinctive these days when nearly every modern NA car ( not just Zeds ) has fake SMIC openings I retained mine to keep it looking factory standard but I've altered the air ducting to serve the new SMIC's. * Clear side indicators, defs. Those orange ones were eye rape. * 2K rear lights? They look great against most Zed colors but not so much on a silver car with the OEM silver rims. Call me weird ( I am ) but I bought a set of 2K tail lights 10 years ago because I couldn't find new OEM S1 tails. I held them up behind the car and thought yeah, nar. Too much silver. They're still in the original packaging. I've thought about asking for swapsies on a VERY pristine set of S1 tails. I honestly prefer the look of the S1 tails on a silver Zed. And again, they're distinctive because most modern cars are rocking silver tail light rigs these days. * 2K headlights? Someone is probably working on an LED version. I'll wait... Cheers, Mick.
Thanks mate. The Goldfields 2010 pics were taken by forum member R31 Gagz He never owned a Zed, poor fellow. Just a lowly R32 Skyline worked to the bejeebz. But we let him hang around us elites because golly gosh he's a good pic taker. Isn't that right @RENZED ? Check out Craig's incredible pics from the 2015 Great Ocean Road cruise - http://aus300zx.com/index.php?threads/gor-2015-saturday-21st-feb.332495/page-2#post-1434556
I have very few pics of the outside mate, here's some upskirt pics though Around 2010, having a shift kit fitted by ATS Automatics - Still rocking the original but patched up exhaust back then. ( it is long gone now ) - Transmission oil pan removed, ready to remove the valve body and fit the shift kit - Hah, I've got hundreds of pics of the rebuild but very few pics of the whole car.
Not bored at all mate, and I remember when you first posted pics of your car years ago. The color is distinctive and frankly awesome. But how did you get that color onto the mudflaps? I have to know. All of us OEM diehards need to know
Thanks for the complement on the colour... A friend of mine is a spray painter ( Hot Rods primarily ) used , if i remember correctly a PPG "flexible" Paint system ?? to colour match the mud flaps.. He also did the timing belt covers and rocker covers.
The best examples come out at Z fests, some 'absolutely' beautiful Zds come out of hiding I can think of some Zs that will most likely be worth BIG dollars now.
I'd hold off on that for the moment Harts. What looks good on one Zed may not work on another. The OP woofer's Zed is a bit unique due to the color, same color muddies seem to just work with that duco. Your car's greatest appeal is it's factory fresh look. ( other than the twin Howitzers at the back ) But I'm still interested in a treatment for the rubber mudflaps to restore their blackedness, not that yours seem to need any help. They look pretty good in your pics. Mate I was trolling your resto-mod thread, this pic made me giggle ( yeah, perspective and all that... ) but I thought - HONEY I SHRUNK THE BONNET!
Roger that, sorry... And many apologies to woofa for us de-railing his thread, I'm probably the main culprit. PS, I'm using the same SMIC's as you. The ducting kit that came with them? Yeah, nar.
