Hi Guys, Any tips on removing the two connectors that sit on top of the instrument cluster. They have a wide plastic clip (top and bottom it seems) which locks the connector in place. I have the top clip open and there not much room to open the bottom ones. Can't seem to get the connector to separate. Any ideas please. Thanks
Here's a close up from my dashboard. You can see the top clip is released and it won't budge yet. Have you done this before? Thanks
I have a feeling that the clip now slides back out of the dash by pushing the clip in. You need to undo the 4 screws holding the gauges in to move the gauges forward first.
I've got the whole cluster free, just need to remove the connectors now and it will come out of the dash in one piece. So you are thinking I need to open the cluster and move the gauges?
No don't take the gauges apart the clip just slides off. Use a very small screwdriver to push the little tang down. Have a look between the clip and slide and it will make sense. Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave, I had to put it all back together again so I could use the car this week. I need to re-solder joints in the cluster as the car is having power steering issues. I'll have another go this weekend.
Thanks for all your help; I did get it figured out. And I'm adding a photo to this thread of the technique (thanks Dave) of using a small screw driver to lever the clip off it's slider. Hope that helps a future inquiry.
