Just how rare AuSpecs are!

Today I discovered via Nissan FAST that VIN: JN10RGZ32 A0010122 was the FINAL AuSpec vehicle produced with production ending 10/95 (so NO AuSpecs actually manufactured after 10/95)

While that vehicle will have Nissan's thin metal strip on the LH side of the upper radiator support stating "Built Oct. 1995", the car could be fitted with an Aussie compliance plate calling it say an "02/1996" because Nissan Australia tended to fit compliance plates dated as their cars were actually sold.

The first AuSpecs VINs were from JN10RGZ32 A0000001
The red Feb. 1990 AuSpec that I parted out was A0000390
The grey Apr. 1991 that I'm tidying up is A0000915 (525 units over 14mths)

When Nissan got to the final version for the Aussie market, they commenced VINs at A0010001 ending the production at just 122 units

My 25th Anniversary model (built Feb. 1995) is A0010038
with the final AuSpec being only 84 units later in Oct.
My car has 27-01-95 tags all over the inside of its trims so safe to assume it was built very early Feb.'95 and assuming the production run ended late October - that's 84 units produced during 36 weeks = just 2.3 units manufactured per week!!!!
    Little wonder Nissan canned production.

Given the embarrassingly low production numbers and the time gone by, AuSpecs overall must now be pretty scarce, particularly the later model ones. Dang... the white one I'm just finishing parting out was the 33rd last one ever made

They were retailing at ~$80k with the 25th anniversary at $100k? no wonder so little were made here.
Does anyone know How much Jspec imports were costing at the time just for comparisons sake?

Just for reference, My 1990 Aus spec's Vin is JN1ORGZ32A0000421. Apparently the second one to arrive in the Northern Territory. Wondering who else has an early example here.

Good one, I can tell you that in '98 (just two years after Nissan Australia gave up trying to sell new AuSpecs), together with a friend I started importing '90 / '91 model low mileage TT's, having them complied and selling them for mid to high $20k's
That was under the low volume import scheme which the government canned because too many people were buying-in wrecks (in order to pay next to no import tax) and doing very dodgy repairs to maximize their profit upon selling.

Better answer though - a fellow by the name of John Weatheral (owned Ming aftermarket car protection which he made a fortune from) got a Nissan dealership to import him a brand new black, 2 seater TT in the very early 90's (I met him working through a Nissan dealership). He paid $120k for the car. He used to keeping it, not in a garage, but in his games room. He eventually sold it to a young bloke who wrapped it around a power pole within a week of owning it...

Not sure on exact details but just from speculating from what i've read and learned over the years, the Ausspec or ADM (Australian Delivered/Domestic Model) as I like to call it, were basically UKDM or United Kingdom Delivered/Domestic Model but in an NA engine config and without some of the fancier UKDM options like heated seats and adjustable rear shock etc etc.

The UKDM models stopped production in August 96 from what my parts websites say, and don't forget the USDM models also stopped being sold after 96 as well.

I think it was more a global discontinuation of the model from all three foreign markets at that one time due to like you said near none existent sales figures for the Z32 back in 1995-1996 but as the Japanese market was still going strong it became a JDM only model.

Fair assumption, although perhaps Nissan simply decided to cut the NA 2+2's earlier than the TT's for their overseas markets due to the embarrassing lack of demand. If anyone can find record of an AuSpec VIN beyond JN10RGZ32 A0010122 or an indication that Nissan decided to alter the car's VIN configuration (unlikely considering it would have been valid for probably another 15 units Lol), shout it out!

I sold my aus spec 2+2na nearly 4years ago to fund the purchase of my tt slicktop.
    Thought aus specs were crap.

I ran the Australian spec numbers as I'm building a complete list in order to get accurate production numbers. I own a Australian parts book from nissan that displays production VIN's. The book is an early printing so I had to use FAST to continue the searches but couldn't figure out the next order of VIN sequencing...that's where Toby came in as I knew he had a later model Auspec. Once he gave me one I could figure out the rest. After coming to the last VIN noted above I jumped the number sequencing up several times trying new combinations. Noting came up. I'm pretty certain we've identified the last one. But if someone does know something else please let us know as the point is to get an accurate number.

I have other parts books from other regions and FAST for all of them so I'm also documenting the same for Europe and the UK, Canada, and Japan. The US has already documented their Z32's via the z registry.

Although the Euro spec and Au spec are similar in some features, Euro typically got higher end features. The UK models were RHD and we're not produced after 93. They were still selling unsold 93 models into May of 94 when they sold the last one and announced there would be no more. Knowing the small number Nissan was producing for the Australian market I can see why they discontinued in late 95. The rest of Europe (LHD) still received models through early 96 production but did not sell them all until 1997. I know online parts catalogs show Aug of 96 but it's not right as I already have the last Euro spec VIN and production date.

    Thanks Graham Lol.
Actually, when I first got the car, I posted pics of the car asking opinions of whether I should part the car or save it - no one seemed to give too much of a stuff - I guess I'm not Toby Zparts on FB for nothing! :)

Toby - The Auspec numbers are slowly reducing, if you keep going, you'll have the only Auspecs in captivity.

Frankly, I don't give a stuff, how "old, rare, unusual or collectable my TT Manual 2+2 may happen to be", as long as it remains in my possession!

YES... agree that car was too new (and a white Auto Auspec too) it should not have been parted.

Won't be what it was, but hopefully we can get her close to being this clean again. Between Firehorse and I, we have all the parts needed except gearbox.

Firehorse & Hardtop, I hope this is still happening, I just looked in the other thread and all the pics of her have been blocked, like she never existed. Toby wanted it moved by today. (Sunday)
