    Basics

Dude, break it down to the basics:- does it have spark at all plugs, Fuel:- do you have fuel pressure to crack the injectors open, about 35 - 40PSI in the fuel rail is required. Are the injectors being pulsed and are they clean? Timimg:- is is possible its skipped a tooth on the timing belt.. have you swapped / mixed up leads to coils or injectors. Comp:- does the engine have comp? No stuch valves or bent suckers. Then there's the ECU and sensors need to be check, MAF, TPS and CTS. Regards Ivan

  2. comp test 120 at its highest. chews thru coolant and blows the most obnoxious blue smoke ever. checked over that entire engine bit by bit, problem is internal. oil pump does not hold pressure either. i know enough about engines to know i have been ripped off and this engine is crud

Bugger, one thing most of us if we ever need a mechanic for the Z will only go to a few of the specialised shops. Most generic shops have no idea when it comes to these cars.

In QLD, Niall - 0410492774 or briseuro@gmail.com who is a member (rollin) on this forum comes to mind. Long time Z owner, now working on Euro stuff but has plenty of experience with Zs.

  4. Already been in touch and just cant afford it. It's going to work out to be aroubd $500 just to tow it there and back plus his time. Giving up on the z dream once and for all. Given too much up for no result what so ever.

Then by your description I would diagnose this to be a head gasket (most likely) or a split bore (least likely). It must have bubbling in the radiator coolant then. Pull the plugs out and inspect them it should be obvious which cylinder has shit itself. Then crank it over, it will most likely spit coolant out if its as bad as you say. Once you hone in on the cylinder. time to fix.

I really feel for you, I understand completely why you feel as you do, I do wish there was some way I could have assisted unfortunately on the other side of the country. I can only hope that someway some how Kama sorts its shit out and things swing your way. I have a lot of faith in kama at times, although it seems that while people who crap on me seem to get what they deserve I never seem to see the flip side of it.....

  7. Haha fix it. Right. Like **** I am wasting thousands more for no reason. Like I said, done with these cars. What was that old saying about insanity? Doing the same shit over and over expecting a different result. Had 4 go's at owning a z. Been screwed 4 times too many. Insanity is owning a 300 and expecting anything other than bullshit.

  8. Feel for the **** who is about to be attacked with every ounce of rage and hate I have for this world.

I can honestly understand your disappointment in this episode.
It's turned out exactly the opposite to what you envisaged.

However, you have to accept that you are the one responsible for the purchase of the vehicle.

Yes, it may be true the vehicle was misrepresented & the seller was dishonest, but at the end of the day, you made the decision to proceed.

There are some very fine examples of Z32's belonging to members on this forum, there are also a number of members on this forum who have & will continue to provide assistance to other members without asking anything in return, so don't focus on the negatives.

  10. It's my own fault for believing human beings were honest and still had integrity. Done talking about it. Cutting my losses and washing my hands clean of people completely. Car is going to the scrap heap first thing today.

    NO!

Where you went wrong, was when you decided that you knew more about Automotive Design than the designers at NISSAN(your choice of Auto Engineers may also have played a major role in your current woes).

There are numerous Z32's on this(and other)sites that have had various, highly successful engine swaps with little or no serious issues.

It's a bit rich to denounce a vehicle in the above fashion(when it is your interference with the overall design parameters that is the real cause of your problems).[TIS]:br:

  12. And how exactly have I interfered with the overall design parameters of this z? Have not done a single thing to it but change 2 coil packs purchased from Martin Williams. :W: Honestly wish you were in your physical prime.

  13. Point out where I claimed I know more than Nissans Engineers. I speak from personal experience owning 12 different kinds of imports. These are the most unreliable.

    Some good advice.
buy small run around to get to and from work.
Then buy an import or what ever u desire to have as a weekend car or project car to enjoy.
That way when shit does go wrong you can use ur small run around to get to work and that.

Bad deal man. Very sorry to hear this. Before you knew the motor was stuffed I was actually keen to get my hands on it and sort out the miss. I know u have had a long hard road with Z ownership.

  16. All good man, thanks all for the kind words, especially you, Chili. Your pearls of wisdom regarding a topic you clearly didn't research enough, amusing at best. Z dream is over, some things just aren't meant to be.

17 years of Zed ownership(which included an unexpected total, hugely expensive Engine re-build, some years ago)has taught me to be much wiser "in retrospect". It has also re-enforced my belief that much of said issues CAN be squarely be directed to "The Loose Nut behind the Steering Wheel!"
The fact that this can happen to someone who has a much longer history of working on/restoring "Things Mechanical" illustrates just how easy it can be to "overlook" some seemingly unimportant situations(to one's ultimate embarrassment).
NONE OF US ARE BEYOND MAKING AN ERROR OF EMISSION !!!(Me included!).

I'd have to agree with 'sleektop' that most normally decent people turn into pathological liars, as soon as it comes time to sell their 2nd hand car!

Hey, at least throw in a bottle of seal-up or seal-tite to the radiator to see if it fixes the cracked head or gasket.
Only $10 to spend & you have nothing to lose?

Many cars fixed with this & still driving years latter.
Just remember to tell the next owner; sorry, I know you won't find anything funny for awhile.
