    Take the car back...

If its not running right, they need to investigate. Especially if these problems have started as soon as you picked up the car.

Ask him what fault finding he has done and their results.

    Is this a licensed mechanic?
Did you pay for the work done?
    Did you get a receipt?
In NSW we have The Dept of Fair Trading, I'd imagine other States would have a similar Government Dept.
Lodge a claim, you have nothing to lose.
An airflow sensor fault would log a fault code in the ECU.

Two very common reasons for stalling/running rough after a plenum pull, vacuum leak and cracked wires in the loom due to being moved for the first time in 25 years.

If you feel safe letting the mechanic near your car again at minimum get him to do a proper boost/vac leak test.

If the plenum was removed for the cooling system bypass likely causes could be

    -biiiiiiig vacuum leak
    -incorrect firing order
-a fuel injector or a coil pack not being connected

If the water pump was changed your problem could be caused by

-a poor connection at the PTU
-a poor connection at the CAS
    -incorrectly set CAS

Was the timing belt changed with the water pump?

As Fists says above and rob260 below
Any of the wires that were touched in the bypass , Have a look where the heater core bypass was done and trace all the wires that were or would have to be moved.
    Hope that helps
And check all the vac hoses as well

He may well of tried his best, the work he did do may be spot on.
But its so easy to up set old wiring :bash:
So just jiggle wires at idle near PTU and such,it may be that easy.
Hard to keep ones cool, but try.:br::zlove:

Graham (Tektrader) & Alex (badxtc) are both on the forum & are very knowledgeable & helpful when it comes to zeds. Maybe pm them & see if either is able to have a look or even fix the issue. I would not be letting that mechanic touch the zed again as he sure doesn't sound like he knows what he is doing.

I can hear a blowing nosie from the back of the plenum i either think a loose wire or or a vacuum leak
