Could anyone tell me what is the best size clamp to suit 5/16 fuel line. These ones come in 10mm - 12mm or 14mm - 16mm http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/14mm-16m...412854?hash=item3a88dee7b6:g:N-4AAOxy63FSrX7a or is this a style better ? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AN8-8AN-...923204?hash=item2a539559c4:g:WZoAAOSwjVVVlQzw I just want to make sure I have no repeat of the fuel spraying under the bonnet Cheers Dave
Those AN -8 clamps will be too big; in that style you need AN -4. Really the best clamps are the factory ones.
If you can find these to suit fuel injected cars I think you would have a winner Normal hose clamps dont change diameter when hot - the rubber does - and squeezes out like a sausage Quote from Norma follows NORMACLAMP? TORRO? CT Constant Tension Worm Drive Hose Clamps overcome "cold leaks" often experienced when installing new hoses. The radially positioned spring assures a continuous self-acting tightening effect. This is the only clamp to use for sealing hoses which are exposed to wide swings in temperature or have a tendency to "flow" under the pressure of the clamp. Manufactured in Germany according to DIN 3017 International standards they have been used as standard OEM equipment on radiator and heater hoses by Ford Australia and GMH (General Motors Holden). AVAILABLE SIZES: Clamping range from 12mm (1/2") to 110mm (4.3") Band widths: 9mm (3/8") & 12mm (1/2") MATERIAL GRADE & DESCRIPTION: W3 - Band, housing and screw components completely stainless steel 1.4016 (430). Internal constant tension spring made of stainless steel 1.4301 (304)
Best clamps are EFI clamps, not regular ones. Very small difference, the tail of the band is on the inside not the outside. Stops the worm drive cutting the EFI hose. Any auto store will have them, just make sure you specify EFI clamps, not normal ones.
