One for the experts, please ....... Is the 2 + 0 and the 2+2 windcreen the same size/interchangeable ... ???? .... but more importantly, does anyone know whether the Convertible windscreen is the same size ..... Any advice would be appreciated.
I am just restating what I have read on this forum, when I say that the convertible had an extra feature of integrated antenna, but other than that, the windscreens will fit any Z32 A-pillar forward is the same for NA convertible, NA 2+0, NA 2+2 body
The 2 seater and 2+2 are definitely the same windscreen and part numbers. The vert has its own part numbers in FAST but I cant see it being a different size, what QLDZDR said sounds like the reason why.
I will add to this, I recently bought a new screen and the supplier stated that the screen was listed as suitable for all Z32's
the top is tinted yes the rest is as per normal winscreen, it was $135 gst incl delivered from perth to gero (just over 400kms) but I am not sure how much (if any) discount I got, as they are one of our suppliers and we get glass from them for work. I did not get it through the work acc and I did not ask for discount. this was through National auto glass.
Is the slicktop different as well? As I remember having trouble getting the right one a while back . .
ive often wondered this as well...........i know the vert has the aerial in the screen, and if i ever need to replace windscreen i doubt that the vert specific screen is still available.
No its the same from what i can see in FAST. It may of been "hard" to get as the supplier simply didn't have a listing and didn't want to make the call. Did you find a problem with a screen ?
yes the first supplier I called had no listing for anything other than AUS release, so no listing for 2+0's and he said he would not supply for a turbo/jdm one (even though he had one in stock) because he could not garauntee it was the same, remember this had to travel 400km's to get to me at the time. just as well as he was more expensive than NAG's
Would measuring a 2 + 0 or 2 +2 and comparing measurements help ?. Also someone with fast may be able to compare windscreen trim part numbers because you would think if the windscreens were the same dimensions the trim used would be the same perhaps which may help. Hell for that price for a screen it's not much to punt on Cheers Dave
Brisz has already mentioned the 2+2 and the 2+0 have the same part number for their windscreens in FAST, at least thats the way read his post.
Can confirm this - when I bought my vert I had to get a new screen despite arguing with the RWC supplier and the windscreen repairer - the chip was right where it shouldn't be. So the original screen with inbuilt radio antenna came out (not that the antenna was actually hooked up), and a new standard Z32 screen was fitted, perfectly.
and you have somehow managed to survive without that inbuilt antenna until now. So any of the vert owners should bookmark his reply to settle any windscreen replacement insurance issues.
