Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been on the forum but I wanted to ask a favour.

I'm getting married on Friday the 13th of May (yes I know it's a lucky day) and was wondering if anyone in the Brisbane area would be able to help out and loan themselves as a driver and their black zed as a wedding car?

I think 2 cars would be enough but 3 would be great so I don't have to use my own. They will be used to drop myself and my groomsman to the ceremony. The bride will be arriving in a pink dodge phoenix so will probably steal the show so sorry in advance ladies and gents.

There won't be much driving involved as it's only from the story bridge hotel to kangaroo point cliffs, a solid 2.5km. I'm not sure if a carton of beer per car is sufficient payment for a Friday but I'm hoping it will entice a few of you to offer your car and driving expertise. If you could drop additional family members to the ceremony before hand, hang around for photos and maybe drop the same family members to the reception in the city afterwards, I'd be even more appreciative.

For now, I'm just putting a bit of a feeler out there to see if I can actually find a couple of people to help out on a Friday. I also still have to investigate if there is enough space at the end of the kangaroo point bikeway for that many wedding cars and still have space for a big ass phoenix to turn around in.

    Thanks everyone.

Congrats on the wedding mate - fair chance I'll be available that day, as I work in Ipswich and that's their Show Day holiday.

    Hey Mate,

Always happy to help a fellow Brisbane Zedder! Would also recommend getting Kris if he is available as his Zed is pretty amaze! :zlove:

I'm sure I could make myself available would be great know the below as silly as it may sound haha..

    - The journey is low car friendly - is there any entrances/exits to be aware of etc...

    - Definitely be good to know if there will be enough parking space as well :)

    Thanks heaps gents,

Yeah I also work in Ipswich, I had no idea it was the show holiday until my manager told me.

And I'm yet to drive my car down there to see if it makes it without scraping, I think if my car makes it, hopefully most will, its heaps lower now compared to my sig pic, but it doesn't have a body kit to catch on speed bumps. I don't know if you guys are familiar with Lower River Terrace / Kangaroo Point Bikeway but there are quite a few small speed bumps along the way.

When I take my car down, I will take a few photos and post them up. Then you guys can be the judge if you feel happy enough to drive across them or not.

Just an update on this as its been a while since i said i would provide one. I havent been able to get my car down there yet to see how low car friendly the street is. So i thought i would at least be a little proactive and provide some streetview links.

This one shows the speed bumps to be dealt with:

And this one shows the driveway at the end of the cul-de-sac (through the yellow gate) to be driven up:

My zed is at the mechanic at the moment so might have to go down there and measure speed bumps with a tape measure like an idiot to give you an idea if cars will scrape or not.

There isnt enough carparks at the end of the driveway however maybe you could just wait in the driveway and leave just before the bride is due to show up so there isnt a traffic jam. So would pretty much only need you to drop groomsmen, hang around a bit, then leave before the ceremony starts.

It would be much appreciated if you're still able to help out (MrG & RoryZ) and sorry its taken so long to reply. A third black zed would be fantastic if anyone else is able to help out.

The Zeds will clear those unless they are so fulli hektik illegally low, i've been down there with my convertible no issues, over slow and gentle , turning isn't that hard bit of a 3 pointer.

Looks like I'm out unfortunately - I won't be replacing my fried clutch before I get my tax return in July. :( Was looking forward to it too - sorry to let you down.

Thats alright mate, I was down at kangaroo point on the weekend and as much as i would have liked myself and my groomsmen turning up in zeds, i just dont think there is enough room for them all. Plus i dont want to put my fellow zed drivers through the agony of all those speed bumps. Most look fine but there are a few suspect ones that look like they will bottom out our cars. Thanks anyway.

I'm unfortunately one of the " Fully Hektik illegally low zeds" - Sitting at about 60mm so that doesn't sound too good haha! Best of luck with the wedding mate and congratulations :D

Sorry that we can't be of help mate, but you'll have a great day no matter what you turn up in.

Though as a car guy, having some pics when you and your mates are scrubbed up with decent cars is pretty awesome. I went with classic 1950s Mercs, glad that I did - but really even modern German saloons can look really nice.

Over a year on from my original post, I thought I would re-thank everyone that offered their car and share a photo or two.

Although I never got to have a line of zeds at my wedding, I did have mine in our engagement shoot instead.

And at the wedding, I turned up in an Audi and my now wife turned up in the pink dodge.

Congratulations to you both, and may your married life be as less complicated as your life owning a Zed :p .
