random fuel cuts

Hey guys, ive recently put another motor in my shell as the old one has had it. Never had any problems prior to the failure of the old motor. The donor car i bought to do the swap and transmission conversion with also had a nistune in it which i also transferred over with everything. I drove the motor on the old car, everything worked as i would have expected. Put the motor and box and whatnot into my shell and i get random fuel or ignition cuts (couldnt tell you which) at 6,000rpm in third (and only in third). When it gets a little warm after 20 minutes or so on the track it also will randomly cut the power at 4,000 & 5,000rpm.

Anyone heard of this before? My guess is that either my fuel pump is on the way out or my dett sensor is misreading as it gets a bit toasty, but I'd like to see if anyone else has ideas before i go and start spending money chasing it.

EDIT: i should also probably add the donor car was an 89 jspec with the nistune in it and my car is a 93 jspec, both were 2+0. Both were originally auto, but the donor was already converted when i bought and drove it. Not sure if that makes any difference or not.

    Check tacho.

i assume you have done a visual check of fuel pump connections and ignition components connections.

if these check out then when the car loses power check what the tacho does. If the tacho needle fluctuates when you loose power then it is an ignition issue. if not then I would place a small light globe on the Fuel pump power wire and check if the power to the pump is being cut off.

    Good luck

If the ignition cuts & the injectors don't, what do you think will happen when the ignition fires again?
As you have NisTune, why not datalog?

Used the one on the donor motor. Are s1/s2 different?
