So far plugged te usb in with te ignition on. Got device drivers not succesfully installed message.
Opened terra term have no idea how to use it or if I have to put particular settings in for it to connect

Stuck on terra term asking for a host

I've never tried this so it's just a wild guess, but I'd assume the host would be either localhost or 127.0.0.1. Worth a shot.

Haven't worked with the saw either but have used similar type of connections before:

    This may help:

You need to install the drivers - otherwise everything else is pointless until you have a working driver!

You may need to be online for the driver to download .....or so that it can get any other software it needs to complete the installation

It may be having problems connecting online and possibly the reason why its asking for a host as well

Post up some screen shots and I might be able to help you further...........

One of the biggest problems you will face is that it is based around a serial port connection being terra term - for the USB to work you may have to create a serial com port for the resources to be allocated - you can use sniffers if you need too to establish whether Serial Port connection is fine. There are USB sniffers / tools that you can also use to check whether the USB connection is connecting through the serial port (unless you have a dedicated USB driver)

Previous experience also tells me that when you have a serial port connection problem whereby it cannot communicate with the device, it can also be persistent in asking you for the location of the device (i.e. it constantly asks for the host location because it cannot find the place where it wants to send data)

    So in summation:

Drivers must be installed and computer rebooted (to utilise the resources allocated) before you can progress anywhere with the install. ;)

Once that is complete, your resources might configure automatically.

Experience tells me though that given its a serial port com to USB port and possibly there is no dedicated USB driver, you may have to configure the serial to USB connection manually (using com port settings)

    Hope that helps

Cheers p5yker think 127.0.0.1 was in the list in terra term but i'll try localhost next chance I get. SuperZ will try your sugestion as well. Any one else??

SuperZ covered pretty much all of it, I had assumed that you'd already done this but if not definitely follow what he said first or you won't have any luck. The device will have to be assigned a COM port and the host will always be localhost (127.0.0.1 is the address of localhost). You'll have to make sure the COM port is not in conflict with any other devices you may use, by selecting the device in device manager and going into the properties dialogue you can change the COM port if required. Good luck.
