my tt has NO det sensor plug ,it has however got 3 wires one being coax just swingin in the breeze ,hence the 34 erro, i would like to reconnect these wires to see if there is an actual issue with the sensor (out of curosity)
im assuming the yellowish wire (probly white at one stage )would connect to the inner core wire of the coax ,and the black wire would connect to the outer wire wrap of the coax ,correct me if im wrong please
if the sensor is faulty ,am i able to by pass it thru the ECU with the resistor trick off the relevant pin and ground it ? or alternativly back in the engine bay which 2 wires do i solder it to ,
    thank you

If you have 3 wires hanging I wonder if the det sensor has been hooked up to the o2 Plug.... or rather the other way round the o2 to the det sensor plug, I think I remember that they were the same.

the original det sensor plug is not there ,,,i have 1 yello and 1 black wire just swingin in the breeze . i also have coax located near the other 2 wires all have been cut assuming the previous just the plug off ,i just need to know is if the wires connect to the coax ,via the original plug

According to the circuit diagram, there is no BLACK wire associated with the detonation sensor.

The detonation sensor has one WHITE wire that eventually terminates at PIN #23 at the ECU.

The sub harness connects the detonation sensor to the wiring harness going to the ECU.

The WHITE wire from the detonation sensor in the sub harness is SHIELDED & this shielding is connected by WHITE wires on both sides of the male & female plugs.

The picture posted, is an aftermarket kit, the wiring colours have been changed to black & white.
The black wire would probably connect to the shielding.

the ground is not used with the det sensor just a signal wire (white from memory) a yellow wire may be a dormant one if you've had the prvr delete done.
