Does anyone know where I can get an EGR delete block off plate, or is able to make one for me? Haven't got the materials or time to fabricate one myself. Will pay obviously, and can I get cam seals and such from somewhere like Bursons?
Pretty sure I have a coz EGR kit laying around. By cam seals do you mean for the front of the motor or the valve covers?
You mean the EGR plenum block off plates (x2) as the EGR is not blocked off as such but rather removed (just in case your not on the right page) I think I have a set - will look for them tomorrow if you like. The exhaust bung you will need also, but this is easy to get/ make Unlikely burson's will have the cam seals but you can try, as they do stock a lot of generic parts. JC
Come on young fella. Like I advised you. Grind off the EGR fittings that go through at the front of the plenum and weld up the plate that goes into the plenum. That will be your blanking plate. Don't forget to grind off the part that sticks up, FYI it will be full of carbon deposits. Go to Bursons and buy a blank off for the exhaust manifold or simply cut and crimp the pipe near the nut and weld it up. Job done cost nix. Regards the seals measure them up and go to bearing service center 55324 888 Wain st Southport, make sure you get the high speed type, they are brown I think. Don't forget to do the crank seal, I will lend you the puller. Maybe a forum member has the sizes and can post it up for you?
Thanks Deacon, I was just cruising Z1 website and saw EGR blockoff plates. Hadn't had a chance to actually read the delete threads. But i've got a 2 hour lecture today which should be pretty cruisey so I'll start reading through then
If you get stuck, I can knock you up a pair of blanking plates ..... have made literally hundreds of pairs .. but had gone into retirement on these. Cost ... Nix ..... my mobile ... 0438621664(Gold Coast).
