Thanks for that. Have removed the unit, hell of a job. Dismantled & cogs good. Electrics OK as it works out of the car. Will test again before reassembly. That's going to be fun.
    Cheers, Henk

    pmac Z,, IT'S COMPLICATED!!!!!

    Circuit solder

Hi Henk, I have just been through this problem. It started with the drivers window working intermittently, I could bang the door panel and it would work again for a while but eventually it died.
I tracked it down to the regulator box circuit board, a faulty contact, 25 years of use and vibration had worked the soldered joint loose. Soldered it in place and it should be all good for another 25.

This is what it loks from the other side.

Man those door cards are are a real bitch to remove and re-fit. Those guys at Nissan really know to make a simple component complicated.

That is the "Power window amplifier" its a small black plastic box found in the drivers side door.
That controller is usually the main problem with power windows. It runs both drivers and passenger side windows.
First point of call would be fuses, then the controller box, the switches, then the window motor.

Thanks for your contribution pmac. That circuit was the first thing I pulled apart and checked. OK.
Have motor back in door now and it works. HOWEVER it operates smoothly half way up and then it sounds like the cogs are slipping. A hand on top of window, gently pulling up and it continues up.
It sort of points to the nylon cog drive in the motor, but I checked that while I had it out and it looked like all cogs were there. Henk

    power window amplifier

i have replaced the brushes in my window motors and rebuilt them but my passenger side window is still strangely slow going up and down, anyone had this issue ? and would it be related to the power amplifier ?

You will find the slow up and down is the tracks the window slides in are dirty and causing the movement to bind
The rubbers guides are dried out and not flexible.

It's also highly likely that the bonded rubber Centre on the Window regulator has detached. This happened to me and I replaced the whole unit.

Hey Mitch, What does that rubber centre look like? About an inch long and elongated shape?.Very hard. I found a hunk of rubber laying in the bottom of inside door skin.
I thought it may be a 'stop' that's fallen off one of the channels. Henk
