Can you put this engine and still be street registed can anyone do this in qld

 

yes it can be put in, anything can be done to anything with enough time and money, cutting discs and mig welding

talk to your roads services and ask them.

 

So a CTSV motor ? Where are you gonna get one?

Physically yeah you could fit it but it's probably borderline on the legal side. Will need to have a good conversation with a mod plate guy

 

Lsa? Is that supercharged? If so it is too big (assuming 5.7 or 6.0). Na it is legal.

4.5l is the biggest you can go with fi.

 

It's the factory blown motor in the VF GTS guys, also in Caddys/Vettes/Camaros etc if you know your yank tanks better

 

Blown 6.2 with a smaller blower than a ls9 I think

 

$9500 to 12000 for the motor on eBay only need to see if I can get a mod plate to make it legal and I did see a 300 for sale with a 6lt engine for sale not long ago street registed

 

That 300 is still for sale at car sales for $20 000

 

Can't be legally plated in QLD with forced induction. LA1 (engine substitution) Gross Vehicle Mass X 3 = cc of engine with forced induction, X 5 for NA. So a 2+2 is around 1650KG x 3 = 4950cc.

 

Never get it registered. Great motor though. Father in law has the new gts and its a good FUN car. Tough as.

So you can point to that mod plate and hope the cop doesn't realize you swapped the V8 for a bigger V8??

 

I have had a traffic cop check out the details of my mod plate on the side of the road

It's alot of money and work to build a street car that is not legal. I would either build a bad ass na or get a 4.8 LS out of the states and boost that. Then could be legal

destroking it woud effectively mean using the 4.8 bottom end the yanks got.

de supercharging would mean u may aswell just buy a 6.2 complete in the first place.
