wrecked my zed now to part out for real.

so...wrote off the zed this morning and broke my c2 or some shit. all parts minus side mirrors from the pillars pack are available. when i get the car back this friday, ill post pics and some more details plus prices, but rules are rules and the exhaust is undamaged i know at least so that will be listed at $900 for a quick sale. seems the pigs in blue decided to stick me with a fine for failure to control motor vehicle. what a load of absolute bs. even had a firey behind be as my witness and still nup. cops will be bloody cops tho. will be fought in court. hicas system almost killed me. glitches on and off recently with the power steering almost going, decided it wanted me dead and took me straight in to a wall at 100 clicks. very over zeds now.

Sounds like the Z might have saved your life instead.

A mechanical report and statements by witnesses might help you in court to fight the charge - but it depends on the entire circumstances surrounding the event. Its a fairly standard charge in an accident - so don't think they have singled you out.

Obviously you should see a professional legal advocate and check out http://www.austlii.edu.au/ to make sure you know the exact definition of the applicable law before you get to court

yeah my second or third vertebrae down is broken in 2 places. yeah im still walking so pretty damn lucky. have no idea about the tie rod i havent had a look at the car, just a quick pic from the front right after. ill try and upload it but my phone is shit and might not work. its a pretty shitty charge is what it is. how the hell can they justify a single vehicle accident charge where no speeding or nonsense was involved? especially in the wet. isnt the fact that ive lost the zed and now have to pay ready towing 600 bucks friday enough? and almost snapped my neck to boot? legislation in this state regarding traffic is an absolute joke. old man is a retired cop now barrister so im hitting him up, but thanks heaps for the kind words and all the advice, much appreciated superZ. telling you now, if i was in my damn batmobile, the concrete would have been obliterated with my .50 cal guard mounted machine gun.

 

Sorry to hear about that, glad to hear that you came out of that quite well considering the circumstances. I don't know much about rules but i'm surprised that they can slap a charge like that on you.

 

from the pic i took looks like left headlight is still good too. passenger door maybe not, drivers door is ok i think. have a new brazilian hatch i didnt install $150 with the glass from my original hatch. all glass survived actually so thats all up for grabs. discus117 has called dibs on the entire interior front and rear

so you're OK, but with a cracked vertebrae, should you be walking around or in traction for a couple of weeks?

im not walking around im bed bound for at least 3 weeks. no passenger, on my way to start this new job but thats bust now. yeah im ok its slightly cracked, more muscular pain around my lower belly and the right side of my back. belly i suspect is from my belt and a bit of the steering wheel, back is obviously from the impact and neck is most likely severe whiplash resulting in fractures. got a mean blue and yellow neck brace out of it tho

for the record, the car is a reverse half cut. i suspect there still to be good parts like silicon piping and the new chrome fuel filter and chrome zed bracket i literally just installed a week ago.. plenty of brand new red vacuum lines and brand new fuel lines, some a week or so old and about a meter unused with red anodized fuel line bracket. $40 for the filter and brackets. plenum is still good im pretty sure, red ceramic brake caliper painted rated to blah blah 500f or something, gotta re-tap 1 thread for balance tube bolt-drivers side front $40 with t/b. brand new afm few weeks old non oem but never had an issue so far $50. will get back to you all with a more comprehensive list when the drugs wear off and i see the extent of the damage come this friday

yea that charge is bs, I call it accident tax, they have to direct traffic, do reports etc, its how they get you to pay for their time, They stung me as well and it pissed me off they could get away with fining me as I didnt really do anything wrong..., I hope you do fight it and win. many of these new laws are stupid and solely revenue raising exercises.... I mean... not having one hand on the wheel at lights... really??!!

 

Shit man, glad your alive, screw the car they are replaceable, your not. Take things easy and stay off your feet till the doctors say it's okay to move around.

With respect to the Charges/potential Fines,

It is a requirement of the Motor Traffic Act(and the Legal system)that any accident which MAY involved claims for Damages MUST have a nominal "At fault" party/individual.
In this incident, you are the said "Party"(being the ONLY one involved).
