Hey guys, would really appreciate some help!

    1989' 2 Seater. Non turbo
Story ; two weeks ago filled up $40 of unleaded 91 and started to hear a noticeable whirring noise,
When I flicked the ignition off, it would constantly keep cranking but never start till I would turn the key.
Got it home, removed the battery clamp as that is the only way to stop it, and accidentally tripped a security alarm/immobiliser I never knew existed (never got told about it when I bought it).
Then it would definitely not even crank.

After different methods of trying to start it, managed to get it cranking for a few seconds then cut out while the relay was disconnected-couldn't do it again.
Eventually basically removed the security system and re-attached the ignition wires. Still no difference.
Does anyone have any ideas? Trip any more wires? Ecu? Horribly stuck :/
My Instagram is there for proof @talbot_300zx

The alarm system was a pretty dodgy installation, removed the whole unit and the over riding wires back to it's original ignition wires.
Checked all fuses (tomorrow doing a complete check with multimeter)
Swapped the battery for a working one and no difference?

What possibilities could of been caused from this and what should I check ???

Is the starter actually engaging ?? Could it be dead ?

  4. you getting any kind of electrical power to the car? ie dash lights etc? or is the whole thing completely dead?

    Starter & Wiring Circuits......

Story ; two weeks ago filled up $40 of unleaded 91]< This part is irrelevant, nothing to do with your problem and started to hear a noticeable whirring noise, < This is your problem - possibly the starter motor has not disengaged when the engine started?
When I flicked the ignition off, it would constantly keep cranking but never start till I would turn the key.
< This is further indication the starter may of been still engaged with the flywheel or flex plate ring gear.

Got it home, removed the battery clamp as that is the only way to stop it, and accidentally tripped a security alarm/immobiliser I never knew existed (never got told about it when I bought it).
Then it would definitely not even crank.

After different methods of trying to start it, managed to get it cranking for a few seconds then cut out while the relay was disconnected < This is ambiguous: What did you do to get it cranking? What relay are you referring to? -couldn't do it again.

Eventually basically removed the security system and re-attached the ignition wires. Still no difference.

If the starter motor was engaged with the ring gear & didn't release, it's possible the starter is defective, or there is a fault in the starter electrical circuit.

All the dash lights come on, all exterior lights come on too, all fuses and relays we know of have been checked with a multimeter, (haven't taken the guage cluster out yet) currently checking the starter - my friend with another Z is helping.

@East Coast Z- The ignition barrel wiring was rewired back up, with the security system removed. (The black and red wire were bridged while he held in a red button for 6 seconds (which I believe was the immobiliser button) and it started to crank again.

Just checked the starter motor right now and it's extremely hot. The starter hasn't cranked the engine since last night and before that almost a week.
The earthed wire to the starter motor it's soldered to the back of the starter.
Is the black yellow connecter the only one?

The Black & Yellow wire is the wire that supplies voltage to the starter solenoid when you turn the ignition switch to the start position.

    Is it Auto?

If so then check the starter relay which i think is in the passenger side guard. This could be the whirring sound.
