Those that know me and Terry and the z32 Mercury will get kick out of these, i was pulling video's off our handy cam to make space on it and got footage i had forgot about from a fun morning at our local drag strip put on by the Gladstone hotrod club at one of there rod runs , Terry had never been on a drag strip be for so had to get used to the tree and staging lights having a helmet muffling all sounds etc she started out running 16.2 and ended up with a 15.8 on her last run all with having a slow reaction time and leaving from idle , will have to teach her to put her foot and the brake and bring the rev's up to 1800 and start getting the turbo's to spin up but she had fun she'd win a few lose a few we have a friend with a 35 chev pick up with a supercharged V6 from a commodore in it he would get her at the start but she ran him down the other end for the win every time . My chev was a bit off its pace as the oil seals in my supercharger were leaking heavy diff oil from the oil bath for the gears in the front of the supercharger into my the air and fuel charge so i was burning air, fuel and heavy diff oil not real good for octane rating but a good time was had by all .So i've put up three clips on you tube two for me and terry running together and the last of terry on her own on her last and quickest run of the day .. Mate my 35 has very good A/C it'll freeze you but lets not go into the MPG thing Ha Ha Ha .. Out of the 3 cars the merc is hands down the best car to drive, and there's a lot better time in it i think there's a low 14 or high 13 in it that's good for a 2 ton car , cut a good light and have the turbos half up and spinning at 1800 rpm at the line and by the time she gets around to doing it again mid this year there will be a set of gt2560r turbo's in it ,there sitting on the shelf waiting to go in ..

So cool to see the old Merc again. As you said 2 ton is a fair lump to haul down the drag strip.

Go for it LLoyd. Your thread has a proper title and this tired old forum needs any content. Interesting content is even better. :D

PS, I see the Z wheels and I keep thinking ZZtop :) tunes

OK two more clips the first is Terry Vs the 35 pickup with the supercharged commodore V6 motor she ran him a couple of times and beat him to the other end each time and this is still leaving the line at idle this is one of there run's.
