    Hey guys,
I've been told by my mechanic I have to replace my LHF shock, was wondering whether these would be any good

    https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=1809

was also wondering if I should just replace both the front shocks at the same time? :/

I've tried asking them, but I think they were swamped before the Christmas break so I haven't heard back from them yet so I figured I could ask here.

I did a search around the forum and found some people saying they were going to try the KYB AGX's out, but didn't actually find a thread where someone had actually tried them.

    I was looking at OEM shocks but they're incredibly expensive in comparison >.>;;;;

Or if any one else has a better recommendation, or knows a better place to source them from in Australia I'd be all ears! (eyes?)

The kyb agx are a great shock, and have been used with much success by quite a few on here.

As a rule of thumb with shocks, always replace as a pair or preferably better all 4, otherwise you'll have one new perfect shock on there and old shagged ones elsewhere, and that's no go for handling or safety for that matter.

The kyb shocks and eibech springs combo is nice as well that concept zed sell, and if your getting new shocks fresh springs is good to do while your in there.

Thanks Jinxed! Hmm yeah I might go the whole hog then, it'll probably save me shipping and headache in the long run too.
    Thanks again ;D

I got a quote from Coz and it was pricey to ship. When I was looking I was about to pull the trigger on this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KYB-GR2-...-FULL-SET-WITH-BOOTS-AND-MOUNTS-/151494510801

It worked out about the same price if not cheaper from memory but included a more complete set of parts. In the end though I picked up a deal with some second hand ones locally.

    *EDIT*

Based on the current AUD it'd be about $615~ to your door.

Kyb blacks are a good standard replacement. I was happy with them.

I have been running KYB GR-2 shocks with King Springs in my zed for a few years now & the ride is quite nice & comfortable. They are a great replacement for old worn out shocks & as Ross mentioned, it is best to replace the pair or all four instead of just one.

I'm running kyb excel-g using the stock 20yo springs. Very nice ride. Got them for under $600 for the set

oh wow! Thanks for all the replies you guys!
Hmm GR2's are pretty cheap compared to AGX's or Koni's
Stupid question but is that because the AGX's are adjustable and GR2's are not?

I'm probably only going to run stock (er, I say that now but probably prone to change my mind in the future).

I called around today to try to find someone who had something in stock but it looks pretty bleak. Guess I'll just have to order em :/

I was chasing a set locally for a while, most places could get them but their pricing was mental. Some were almost half the cost of that entire set for a single shock!

The price difference between the AGX & the GR-2 is because the AGX are adjustable as you mentioned. If you want adjustability, personally i would rather get coilovers instead of shocks, but you will be sacrificing a bit of ride comfort if you do get coilovers.

If you want the stock ride feel & if on a budget, then get the GR-2 & get whichever springs you want like the Bilstein or King springs

Even the non-adjustable were bloody expensive locally. This is what always get me, the big chains are able to buy in bulk, cut shipping costs etc, but then charge a price that is still more expensive than for me to order it in from the US. Even if you added on GST it'd still be more cost effective to order in.

Now that said, if I owned your regular falcodore it'd likely be cheaper but still, it's not like I am going to Nissan, I'm calling local suspension joints and auto parts stores and they still have high pricing. And most of the time don't have it in stock either!

I know what you mean, I just ended up giong the whole hog and buying them from the US :/ estimated shipping is only 2 weeks so not too bad really. I expected it to take around 4 weeks.. which is what I'm used to with the US/ UK.
