hey guys long time. I've a sudden issue with the Z, it ran beautifully until yesterday afternoon. suddenly wouldn't start, so today after pouring in some bp98 (was filled 1 start before with shell v- power) it did turn over but not even at idle speed, more like 2-300rpm rough as guts. no way this is running on five, more like 2 :( the accelerator is non-responsive, it won't rev at all and soon clonks out.

I thoughy I could smell some fuel, checked the clamps and hoses all of which are two years old and everything seems in order. the fuel filter is two years old and no obvious boost leaks.

I'm gonna try to get conzult on it tomorrow but this sucks.

fPCU isn't bypassed and is highly suspect.

    Check AFM and air leaks

    Why......

......is the Fuel Pump Control Unit highly suspect?
How are you going to determine if it is operational or defective?

yea, for it to run perfectly and only been out of the workshop for 1 week it has to be something drastic. never had any problems starting at all and to suddenly do this after only sitting off for 5 hours what else could it be? it hadn't rained during the 5 hours the only thing that changed was 1 start before it was filled with v-power. so either the petrol or the fuel pump right? from memory I can use conzult tuner to test the fuel pump?

I will check the afm, didn't have time to conzult scan it today. is the afm likely to just die?

    Don't panic yet.
It may not be as drastic as you might imagine.
Possibly the fuel itself, but more likely to be something else.
If you think it is fuel related, pressure test the fuel system.
Don't go bypassing stuff because it may be the cause, diagnose the problem & rectify the cause.
ConZult won't be of much assistance diagnosing the pump.
However it is a good place to start as a stored code could be related to the problem.

nah mate I drove it from the gas station after filling from empty ten kilometres home. it's a brand new shell service station so I wonder if there's something mixed in the fuel from inside the new under ground tanks? the place is one week old. hopefully they didn't mix ethanol into the v-power.

    Run codes with paper clip.

I'm going with air leak as well.
