    Hey guys,

Thought you'd get a kick out of this.

I've moved from Melbourne to Darwin for work. After looking at several options for car transport I decided it'd be more fun to put it on a permit and take it up here myself, pretty sure it worked out cheaper too.

For various reasons the car has been off the road for a number of years, so I wasn't quite sure if it would be up to the task, but I've always said life is too short to be sensible!

I put some new tyres on, pressure tested the cooling system, changed the oil and checked it for codes.

It took 5 days and lots of km's (not to mention paying $2 a litre most of the way up )

I had one eye on my digital temp gauge most of the way up, highest it ever got was 88 after screaming past a line of grey nomads and their caravans at around 160 :D

It's quite daunting watching the road disappear over the horizon in both directions, but it was an incredible experience. Definitely recommend doing it at least once in your life.
