This poor car has a little bit of history with the club over here and only a couple of years back was in very good condition and worth ~$9K Take a look at her now: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=346708023 I have not paid the asking price and did not take the V8 engine with the car. On my way nth to pick it up tomorrow, will not be any rebuild thread for this one any time soon she is just going to go in the corner and wait for the time and parts etc to restore/rebuild. Unlike some people I wont be using a paint brush, bricks & a multitude of photos to "rebuild" this one
Is that what they call humour in the waikato??? what kind of motorn sprays the bottom of a car in a home garage.... of course i was going to brush it on... i love how since you are a back yard z mechanic you think you are gods gift to everything z... you need kicking down a few pegs. stop the personal attacks to try get yourself respect. i guess it's wrong to post lots of rebuild pics to help people out to see how things go and what is involved etc... i didnt do a build thread to show off or get respect i did it to help other people. something you could never understand.
I paid a grand and left the v8 etc with him, just took the rolling body away. Skiddy I'm a qualified mechanic (and aircraft tradesmen) and the director of my own company, I own a commercial building and operate from that - can you please explain what part of that is "back yard?" Yip I took the piss out you for being a back yard turkey harden up. Moron is spelt with out a t by the way - gees can't even spell your own name aye.
Fresh off the ferry from an island off Auckland: Outside my "backyard" All ready to go, a bit of tape to hold the spray can painted front bumper, a primer nose panel - man this car is sick!
SO!!! This thing has finally seen some action! Where she sat last time you guys (not on Facebook) saw it: Not much happened for a VERY long time, a little paint removed, some panels swapped but then this happened within the last mth or so: New windscreen Bare metal & repair any rust etc (all external panels were taken back to bare metal) Before all that went on a long time ago I installed an engine (TT obviously!) & did a manual conversion. She had Bilstien shock but I fitted a set of lowered springs to complement things a little. Will be building a complete custom exh system but probably only mild steel for this one (gets expensive doing full stainless systems all the time LOL!! )
I was considering making the drag car from this one but decided against it, still another two seater sitting waiting for some love at the shop, that will likely be the victim, is already a stripped out hulk so will make things easy LOL!
Just the stock JDM units, just the camera quality (lack of quality that is) not picking up the lens like you would expect.
No booth, most of it painted exactly where the photos are showing it, just the front panels out of place in the pictures. Should only need a buff & no sanding I used PPG Cobra two pot paint & spent the hard yards on the prep work, makes a BIG difference in quality of finish, still a few little bits not really perfect but overall WAY better than the average resprayed Z32 out there.
It's the wifes daily driver, fitted leather interior & will soon have its 2000 spec headlamps, already has the tail lamps. Other than that it's just being driven, will get the rest of the exh done soon.
Good to see another 300 saved..... makes me wonder what happened to my NA in NZ.....last time i checked on Carjam it was still rego'd - hopefully its still going strong!
