The Z Car Club of Qld is running a series of events (called the Roadz to the Nationals) in 2014 to promote the upcoming Nissan Datsun Nationals in 2015.
The first of these is the Cross Border Run on Sunday February 2, 2014 , which goes from Nerang on the Gold Coast to Bangalow making use of mostly back and mountain roads to keep it interesting. Entry itself is FREE however a BBQ Lunch at the Bangalow Museum Tea Rooms is $23 a head incl Coffee/soft drink and gives us the chance to all park together and chat about the cars etc. Due to catering, numbers are needed early and entry closes Jan 19 so if your interested please get in touch with me on ndn15@zcarclubq.org.au or message here. I will need an email address to send you the info on the run (directions etc). The Z Car Club Q is a CAMS affiliated club and this run is CAMS sanctioned. It is open to anyone (preferably with a Nissan or Datsun) and if you are not currently a CAMS club member then we can provide you with a Trial Membership for $2. This gets you covered under their insurance policy. Entry Forms etc are also available on our dropbox site ; https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mwg4z75pqrl76b8/Ku24fB9Dnb
We have a Facebook page www.facebook.com/ndocarnationals so would appreciate your "liking" and "sharing" our page to help us get the message out there to everyone.
The Cross Border Run is a social event, there is no racing, times, or prizes, just the chance to drive on some nice twisty roads with a group of like minded people. Its about 180klm from start to finish so its a relativey easy day.
The Z Car Club is a not for profit club and the NDN15 is a costly exercise to host, so we are also looking for sponsors. If you have or know of a business that could benefit from our exposure over the next 16 months, please let me know. Thanks! :)

Quick Update to expand somewhat on the original post.
We expect to be leaving Nerang at 9.00am and be in Bangalow around 12:30 for lunch.
The BBQ lunch is provided by the volunteers who run the Bangalow Museum so we need to have final numbers in by the 19th January to allow them to arrange food, people etc.
Lunch is a Steak / Sausage, Salads, Bread Rolls, Tea/Coffee/soft drink so pretty good value. So if your interested please let me know ASAP (ndn15@zcarclubq.org.au)
Did the run last week and its 157 kilometres with a real mixture of tight mountain twisties, long sweeping bends and very little suburbia. Great scenery and all up pretty good roads (as in surfaces - all tar). If you know the Springbrook, Tomewin and Burringbah Mountain roads then its going to be really straight forward. For those who don't I will be providing detailed (turn by turn) instructions.

Hopefully we can get a great turnout to this event, from both sides of the border! Would be a great cruise for northern NSW members, drive up then join the cruise home. :)

Just wanted to clarify the Trial Membership requirement.
As a CAMS affiliated club, the Z Car Club and its members are covered under CAMS insurance policies. Last year they changed the rules so that all club events (social or competitive) were deemed to be sanctioned events requiring a CAMS Permit. As a part of that, ALL participants also had to be members of a CAMS Club. So we developed the $2.00 Single Event Trial Membership so that non members could participate without the necessity of having to be fully fledged members. This way CAMS is happy and everyone including the club, has insurance cover. If you do have any questions, please send me a message.

For people in NSW, if you don't want to make the drive north first, you can always just meet up with us at Bangalow for lunch. I do however need to know your coming for catering purposes.

Thanks for the push. I am hoping the forums will bring people along as it was my idea to make the events open to people outside the club, which was difficult with the CAMS rules (Thus the $2 membership). Don't want (too much) egg on the face!

If anyone is curious on the two deleted posts, they related to files on Dropbox which some have advised they couldn't open. Not sure if they were corrupted or what.
So if anyone is coming and havn't received their Run Notes and or Trial Memberships, can you please email me on "ndn15@zcarclubq.org.au"
We have 26 on the run and two extras that will meet us up for lunch.
If your thinking you have missed out you have one final chance as I have got the Lunch stop (Bangalow Heritage Tea House) to extend their deadline to this Sunday, 26th, so come on get involved. Its going to be a fun drive. Remember to bring your camera.

I now have been given until Tuesday 28th Jan to give the Bangalow Heritage Tea Rooms final numbers for lunch, so if there any members who have been thinking about joining in, this will be your last chance. I have 26 confirmed plus 2 maybee's and we were hoping for >30. So dust off your driving shoes and come along for a nice quiet drive in the country, with a few hairpins thrown in for good measure.

OZX_320 (aka Michael) should be coming along as well, hopefully that's ok!

Anyone driving down from Brisbane, we're meeting at the top car park of Jindalee DFO at 7:00/7:15 for 7:30 departure. :)

Thats Great! Thanks Kris for the heads up.
Had a couple cancel due to pressing demands interstate but should still have 40 or so (People not Cars)
Looks like we may be hosting 3 or 4 from Cuba, so everyones international relations best be up to scratch. These guys have been introduced from the forum. Will be interesting to see what they think of our cars.
