The last thing you want to see under your head lol

Pulled the head off one of motors and found this lol. Not really a tech question but didn't know where else to post it and thought it would be good for a laugh

Yeah, finding nothing under your head is a real problem, usually means someone's decapitated you and you really should do something about it fast.

 

that piston needs more speed holes.

Is no one seeing the exhaust valve sitting on the piston? Which is what I found under the head!!

 

You can't see the exhaust valve sitting in there?

is it my imagination or has that piston rotated 45deg clockwise the valve cutouts are in the wrong place

 

Not your imagination at all , good pick. I'm starting to wonder if this motor was a so - called rebuild by someone we know. Can you post details of where the car came from and any work that was done on the motor. Piston loose in the bore to be rotated like that ?

 

Have to be a lot worse than that! More like bent/snapped conrod.

By the looks of the top of the piston it got banged up nice and good when the valve decided to detach its self. There are heaps of dints snd nicks that may be the reason for the conrod to break....could be the reason for the piston being rotated.

 

Did this engine even run at all?

 

Duct tape will fix that.
