    Hey Guys,

New here and to the Nissan world transferring from the Commodore world lol. I recently picked myself a 1989 Twin Turbo 5 speed Fairlady Z32 and just have a few questions.

My first question is, At high speeds, roughly 80k's and over if I hit a bit of a pot hole in the road, the rear of the car feels like it kind of sways a little bit then comes good. I know both the rear struts are stuffed but I also think the bushes that the HICAS tie rod ends go into (at the hub) are shot out. I' am needing to know the name of these bushes so I can order them.

My Second question is due to the fact its a Z32 am I able to use parts off say a 90 model Z32?

    Thanks in advanced

The tie rods actually have a ball joint at each end, not uncommon for them to be worn out after 20 years.

With regards to parts, most any part from various years of z32's should swap straight in (though there are a few exceptions) chances are it will work just fine.

Yeah they both looked pretty worn out with a fair bit of play in them. I think I might just order both the Tie rods for the HICAS with the bushes.

My drivers side front Tie rod end is shot as well, so if I was to order one that was to suit a 90 Z32 it should fit without any trouble?

Regards too the parts, a 1989 model is basically the 1990 model, pretty well all the parts on the Zeds are straight swapovers except for a few from the much later models. And welcome too the disease oops love of the Zeds

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I have been reading through some of the posts regarding this issue and a few peoples have said to replace the rear struts first and see if that fixes my issue. Thanks again for all your help and direction.

    UPDATE!!!!!!!

Managed to replace both my rear struts today with new Pedders Gas comfort ones plus new boots & Bump stops. This has seemed to fix up my issue so I now feel a lot more safer on the road lol. Drivers side rear strut was completely stuffed. Saw a few more stuffed bushes while I was under there today, so looks like Pedders might be ordering me a bush kit in the next month or so after I've done the Timing belt.

    Thanks again guys.

Order bushes from the states along with your timing kit. Sooo much cheaper. Energy suspension is what i used.
