Hey everyone, this is a weird request but if you have any photos of zeds with 17" Rims that you think suit the car, please post them up. The reason I ask is that I recently bought some 3 piece rims (expensive ones) in 17". I am just not sure how well they're going to look on the zed when Z32's have such large arches. These are the rims: After taking this photo of my car, it's made me rethink the hatred I had for my 19"s... They're not that bad (I know they're hideous but I can live with them): I just want to know if the zed will look dicky with 17" wheels on them. If I keep the wise sports I'll eventually step lip them to 18", but that won't be for a long, long time. I'll have to put up with the 17" for a while... Also kinda thinking about selling them and buying some varrstoens in 19", putting my tyres on the varrstoens and selling my current 19"s to hopefully break even. Not sure yet.
These are cool: 4x LM Style 19" 5x114.3 19x8.5 19x9.5 Staggered Alloy Sport Rims Mags Wheels http://bit.ly/VKbXIs
I'd prefer a varrstoen than that eBay ripoff BBS because I'm not sure of the quality and have no way of telling if they'd clear the calipers or not. I wish I knew someone that had tested those rims.
I really like these ones because they have some dish to them but not too much http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/18-VARRS..._Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e73f8f646&_uhb=1
I had those speedy 19's on a V8 soarer and I think they look sweet. They don't look quite as good on a zed but I still like them and regret selling them with the car. ok so this isn't at all helpful with your question but it made me nostalgic I did have a look through my zed pic folder of over 800 files, and I was hard pressed to find a car with 17's. 95 percent had 18's or 19's, which personally I think is the sweet spot. I'd go 17's for a track car, or the track look at least. Ben
Hey Ascension, my speedy 19's are FS for $500 with awesome tyres not a bad price for something you're nostalgic over
hmmm tempting...... but I'm skint right now unfortunately. I'll keep them in mind though if I have an un-forseen financial turn around lol I'd snap them up if they were holden pattern. Looking for nice wheels for my Jag. Don't have any money for those either haha, but it's amazing how sometimes I can scrap together the money when I want something badly enough! Ben
This was my Z with 17's on - I've now gone up to 18's..... (17's will be for sale cheap as soon as I get round to it!)
K.rider The tyres fill the wheel arches. If you like the look of low profile bands, then you need to stay with 19" 16" = 50 profile 17" = 45 18" = 40 19" = 35 Unless the tyres and wheels are super wide. That is what I think I've seen
They look good mate, don't wanna swap for a set of 19"s, do ya? Thanks for the replies everyone. Keep em coming
YES we know, that is why l added the disclaimer " Unless .... super wide" The overall wheel diameter must stay within the OEM, or the speedo is off, because the car thinks it is travelling further. Superwide 17" = 40 profile Super wide 18" = 35 profile Superwide 19" = 30 profile Superwide 20" = no room for air must be like run flats
The tyres on the 17" rims I've got at the moment are 225/45/17 They're mismatched though, so when I drive I'll have to take it easy and replace them in the future.
This is what I'm worried about. I'm as low as I can go on the 19's without scraping in my driveway, and these rims will lower the car a tad, meaning I can't lower the suspension anymore:
They aren't as pretty up close, but will be cheap - will get some pics etc organised and PM you before I put the for sale post up.... My rims are Front - 17x8 - with 235/45-17 Rear - 17x9 - with 255/40-17
