So I've seen subs facing both ways... Which one would you go with and why?

Yup, sub facing the boot glass.

Reason behind this is so the bass rebounds off the hatch, meant to help with distortion I've been told, unsure how true this is.

That being said, my sub is facing the front of the car, purely because the box hits the hatch glass when it faces the other way. I have no trouble with distortion and it's plenty loud.

Ditto, think it fully depends on the quality of the sub and box. If your sub lacks punch and base it can help facing away from you, otherwise its fine to face it to you.

I have mine facing directly to the rear hatch.

mine used to face the rear, now it faces the front. didn't notice any difference but i never use it on max volume. IMHO i don't think it matters!

    depends on the sub...

I got this so it has to sit sideways...

Mine faces to the front because it shakes the hatch when faced towards the rear.

dude, who cares, cost only $110 and it does the job well enough, it's also active so no need for an external amp, and my targas can still fit with it.

one of the important thing is the size of the box. you should be able to hide it under the cargo blind. I've seen a Zed with a big sub in a box and it just sticks out.. just asking someone to break in and get it stolen.

Yeah fits under the blind. Amp is going to be visible but I'm pretty careful about where I park my car...

Rob, it sounds like you have a setup with everything plugged in.
You put some effort to get it just right.
Why would you mount the amp in the window?

Post a pic , how inviting is it ?

Any other suggestions for 2+0? Already tried under the seat... Looked to fit ok but it was fouling on the sliders for the seat adjustment....

depends what you want out of it... usually in hatches for bigger bass you'd face it to the beack.. for cleaner bass you'd face it forward...

Or face it downwards depending on your box set up

It totally depends on the frequecny of the sub, if the box is sealed or ported, if it is ported, what frequency the ports are tuned to, which way the ports face in reference to the sub.

But what i suggest is having the sub face close to a solid wall, i.e under 5" of room, as this will allow the sub to build pressure in the confined area between the box/sub/solid wall as well as the volume being made within the box. This will create a better sound, improve response, improve overall frequency handling, having the sub face pumping into open air is like wasted energy.
