i have a pearl white 300zx and recently took the rear spoiler off, i had to do a bit of rust removal and my old man painted it for me but it has come out a little different to the original colour and being an apprentice i cant afford to get a pro respray.. how would it look to get the hatch wrapped in carbon fiber.. anyone done this?

If I were to do that, i'd almost go a 2 tone wrap, like carbon fibre hatch, bonnet, targa's and pillars, then the rest of the car pearl white.

Only problem is that that would cost almost as much, if not more, than a respray of just the hatch.

    my car is a slicktop...
i was just brainstorming and thinking carbon fiber would look better then a different colour, but if its just as expensive i might just save for a respray

    It could look alright.
A respray of just the hatch should only be ~$500 I'd say. Just get the colour matched :)

Or if you're really picky a full respray is always good :zlove:

$3k for a ordinary spray, $5k would be a decent one.

A question asked 1000s of times. The only answer really is how long is a piece of string? All depends on the quality of the paint, the skill of the painter, the prep ect. You can get on the cheap, but dont expect a showcar finish

you can spend over 3k on decent primer, thinners, paint and clear, then factor in sandpaper, scotch bright, fillers, panel work, and other labour. when doing a thorough respray, you then need clips, new seal's, sealant and other's. if your a retail customer walking into a shop of good quality, you can expect to pay 6k and up, anything less really is going to leave you with a poor quality product.
