Yeah, just don't take it to a big workshop that might be a bit picky. My car has all the deletes done and I had no problem with the blue slip. Made sure I took it to a small local mechanic attached to a petrol station. They are just happy if they can tick the boxes.
Thanks Marcus , What about the different engine ? should I worry about the engine numbers matching up if he doesnt bother checking ? Or should I wait till after its registered ?
He will try to find them - as he needs to check the number off on the blue slip to be proper and so he will try very hard to complete this step! show him where it is - to help him out - there is no problem with numbers not mtaching up unless one of them is reported stolen, which I am sure you would have made sure they were ok anyway before buying as briz said - "take it to a small garage and not a big workshop and you will be fine"
Nice , sounds like a plan  I was told by our work mechanic to have stock wheels on . Also heard that 18" wheels shouldnt be an issue ? I have stock wheels but might need to replace two tyres
Will do , the main reason why im a little stressed is I dont have original rego papers . But the car was last rego'd in NSW and has all compliance plates . So according to the RTA it should be straight forward .
Yes. Go with stock wheels, even if its going to cost you two tyres. The less visable mods is easier on the blue slip guy. Another advantage is if popo want to defect the mags then you have a set of std wheel to clear the defect ticket.
These issues are all about finding the right people to take the car to. If your not sure, try to talk to other car owners in your area (maybe guys with hot rods or other modified cars). I got knocked back on my pink slip the other day because I have after market camber arms. The mechanic then told me who to see to get it passed (which was a workshop just one block away). The thing is that mechanic was into cars himself but was having the big workshop rules govern his decisions, so he helped me out. His boss wanted proof the the camber arms were ADR approved.......wrong place to go .
Yep , im hearin ya . I had a local guy in a trailer shop that was perfect , but he moved . I will take all things into concideration and cross my fingers . The car is pretty standard with no suspension mods or obvious engine mods . Stock interior so I think so long as everything works etc I should be ok . Thanks for all the tips fella's
Engine numbers I'm about to go through the whole Road worthy down here in VIC. I have changed the engine and require a receipt showing the new engine numbers. I also have to present the vehicle to Vic roads as the engine has been changed. I'm a little nervous as the car as shown in the in pictures below has the full body kit and mags so its a little hard to turn the vehicle into a stock zed. When is your slip booked in for - let me know the outcome.
