HI all - Has anyone had issues with their heater and air conditioning not working and as such resulted in a failed roadworthy? Thanks.
heater I would see why. You need a working demister for your windshield (for safety).... wouldn't like a car not see where they are driving Well im pretty sure thats the law up in here in QLD. Would think it would be the same down there
thanks - found this on the vicroads website if anyone interested Optional and Non Essential Equipment Where optional and non essential equipment is fitted such as air conditioning, rear window demisters, etc, it is not necessary for it to work providing it does not adversely affect the safety of the vehicle or its compliance with mandatory Standards for Registration. Windscreen Demisters Vehicles required to comply with demisting provisions (e.g. ADR 42 and licensed buses) must have the necessary equipment present and operational. Does this include heater?

Bah...... Says a demister, does NOT specify it must be hot. Same for heaters. Whether they are hot on not is optional in my view. So long as the air will divert to the screen when the demist function is pressed then your laughing. E
A/C no - my air compressor is dead and passed rwc. As for heater my climate pod was missing the tab to move it up to heat, so I doubt they tested that. Just make sure your dimister is working and you will be sweet as pancakes.
My prelude just went through NP and the rear demister doesnt work as I damaged the traces removing the tint. Aircon definitely will NOT be a problem. Heater shouldnt either, as long as air can be routed to the demister vents, it should be sweet.
in the winter in my celica I had to blast the air con at the foggy window when it was already freezing. fun times.
