    Hey guys!

So i replaced my rotors and pads on my NA 2+2 zed

Now they squeak like crazy and don't tend to be as good as I had hoped. Now I did clean the rotors before putting them on and they where all installed correctly so I'm unsure as to why this is happening.

Also I've heard from a few people it's good to upgrade to the TT brake callipers / pads / rotors is this true is it worth the money to upgrade em?

    Thanks in advance Kesh.

Did u put the brake shims back in? And apply some shim squeal goop? There is another spray can that reduces squeal you can get from the auto shop.

Hopefully you used the right product to clean the break rotors. I've heard of some ppl using a little sand paper on the rotors to roughing them up if they make a little noise, never done this myself but since they are new skip that
Also cheap brake pads can squeel, what pads your running with? Yes need shims+goop to cut down on the noise as well.

Also I think it might be normal for the brakes to make a little noise until you wear them in for a week or so.

TT brake upgrade probably better to spend money elsewhere unless you plan on racing a little and need to stop ASAP..

Use an anti-squeak on the shims and backs of the pads. Sand the rotors down with 80 grit sand paper and bed the brakes in hard.

    those things that stop your car are spelt B R A K E S, not B R E A K S.
Spell the important stuff correctly and the search feature might actually work LOL

Firstly, you weren't the only person in this thread that misspelled it.
Secondly, it happens a lot through threads right across the forum, so don't feel that you're too special.
Thirdly, this forum is a bank of information that people like you and I rely on. Oh wait, kind of like a Dictionary or Encyclopaedia. Funny eh!

Interestingly enough to use either a Dictionary or Encyclopaedia you have to spell correctly, or conversely if you want YOUR results to show up in a search you have to spell your stuff correctly.

    Coincidentally, you spelt encyclopaedia wrong.

At a personal level, I really couldn't care if people can't spell correctly, or don't spell correctly through auto-correct or lack of proofreading. It's my job to make sure people get as much out of this forum as possible, including the search feature, so in retrospect my moderating responsibilities on this forum requires me being a "DICK" from time to time as you so kindly put it.

Ironically, you could do a forum search for people that have tried to "search for items" and couldn't find things.

    .

    Nuff said.

With regard to your actual problem, make sure your shims are installed, and as whitenight has said, you need some goop in there or a little high temp grease can also be effective.

I think its pretty normal for a car forum to have many simple spelling mistakes, ehh! Doesn't matter we are all here to help each other out, hopefully to save a little $$$ or in reality terms spend a huge a$$ of $$$ on mods instead..

Another good search tip is to use google search like this -

    Keyword Search - /site:aus300zx.com keyword1 keyword2
Sentence or Phrase search - /site:aus300zx.com "key phrase"

I always try to search the forum first, its a huge databank of valuable information as Pexzed says. I would definitely be lost without and probably would never had a 300zx without this forum!

PS - Maybe we need a vbulletin spell checker for the WYSIWYG editor.

This should probably be taken away from this thread, but I'll finish up with the following.

Spelling/grammar don't need to be word perfect, but my point is, people that search for brakes, will type brakes, not breaks etc etc.
So, it is just my "suggestion" that we all put a little more effort into the "key" words, especially in the thread titles :)

Using Google to crawl a site will still only reveal hits relevant to the search criteria. Spell it wrong, you still won't get a hit.

On the plus side, now people will be able to do a forum search for the word encyclopaedia :).
On the down side, you now know I went to school before smart phones and mobile phone keyboards were mainstream LOL.

Anyway, hopefully the OP can get a good result for his problems.
