Im going to remove the engine next month to replace the dead turbos and was thinking it would be a good idea to do some preventative maintenance while everything is easy to get to. Is there anything people recommend doing while the engine is out im all ears. So far ive got Replace turbos plenum pull and water hose bypass reseal tappet covers to fix oil leak at rear replace turbo coolant hoses 200k timing belt kit det sensor I might remove the all of the hicas gear while engines out but will wait and see
Ugly. lol but it still works Guess it could use a few new connecters Replace turbos plenum pull and water hose bypass reseal tappet covers to fix oil leak at rear replace turbo coolant hoses 200k timing belt kit det sensor Rear main Reglue sump Check engine mounts Replace broken engine loom connecters
Flush all the water passages really well (perhaps professionally?) to remove all the rust debris that builds up. Put new PCV valves and PCV hoses in when doing the plenum pull - good opportunity to have Alvin (Mr AAA) do a flowtest on the injectors and clean the rail as well. Replace all injector bolts and rail bolts with allen bolts.
Cam seals and springs . Coolant bypass hoses and hard pipes , they will be very rusty . Thermostat Water pump
All of that will be in the timing belt kit whats the reason for that? Replace turbos plenum pull and water hose bypass reseal tappet covers to fix oil leak at rear replace turbo coolant hoses 200k timing belt kit det sensor Rear main Reglue sump Check engine mounts Replace broken engine loom connecters Flush all the water passages PCV valves and hoses Service injectors and clean the rail as well.
