TT 370 z The Blue 370 ran 12.2 in this pass but did run as fast as 11.7 on the night , and may well go faster? which is ok ? , That said you can run similar times with stock Turbs / Inj in a 300ZX TT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_rMRoo3RKI
I always thought my NA (or any of the TT's) handled corners pretty well. You hit the corner, turn, and the car goes exactly where you pointed it. It doesn't get any better than that! BUT - then I drove my new car, and you know what - waaay better. Don't ask me why, I can't explain it - it's probably just the obvious difference of what 20 years engineering will do for you. As for acceleration, the 370 is pretty damn nice - especially with the paddle shift. Just set the shift light to 5200 RPM (yes, it's programmable via the dash), and stomp it. Here's a dyno sheet I found for a stock (vs Stillen exhaust) 370. Blue = stock. 276 HP = 205 kW.
Longer wheel base has better handling dude, it's mentioned in the tech section about a 2+2 handling better.
Yeah on a long wide open track a 2+2 would, but on a short tight track a 2+0 would be better. Why do you think F1 cars are sooooo slow around tight corners?
Cmon ladies, this discussion is as pointless as the matchup on that vid. What a crock! You actually CARE that a slightly modded TT matches up with a .... sorry ..... Ive forgotten what the other Zed was.........oh yes 370..... it was so memorable! Sheesh. Yawwwwn! Then, the useless argument whether a 2 seater "handles" better than a 2+2...... Oh please, define "better handling" then. That f1 comment above is preposterous! E
Because they aren't going fast enough to create the required downforce to give them the traction to take the corner faster.
The suspension on my car is "upgraded" and handles a LOT better than stock. EVEN a stock 350Z handed me my ass around the corners at Winton. I couldnt get within a bulls roar of Robin in his 370Z at Phillip island despite me having an extra 70+ RWKW over his 370Z. I was obviously faster on the straights than him, but a race isnt all straight road. No heresay, just 20 years of development. Wheel base dosent come into it, if the geometry and layout is vastly improved.
I'd be more keen to hear or read about some comparo's with say a BMW Z4M and a 350/370Z, given the gem of an engine the Z4M has. Anyone driven a Z4M? Opinions?
I hate to go against the 300 as well but comparing handling of it to a 370 is no different to comparing it to the handling of a 240, yes for there respective eras they are all good but with 20 odd years between each they had damn well better have improved. As for straight out power look at some of the big american muscle of the 60's I am sure it gave plenty of cars truble for many years, but again dont try and g around corners or stop in those things. Power is not everything, just a hell of a lot of fun. The 300 was and still is a great car for its time, the proof of that is vids just like this, 20 years on and it still has the ability to garner respect, but as everyone points out it is still a20 year old car and things have improved in that time.
What you need to know is that the shorter the FB (Front to back) wheelbase is, the faster you can corner. This is because a shorter FB wheelbase permits the vehicle to take a sharper line through a corner at a given speed or a faster speed for a given line through the corner. A really great example here is a large truck turning in relation to a small car with the same SS (side to side) wheelbase. The large truck has the longer FB wheelbase and has to take a longer line through the corner and/or a slower speed through the corner. The F1 car has a relitively longer FB wheelbase compared to it's SS wheelbase, hence they can be slower than a shorter wheel base car through the middle of a tight corner such as a hair pin corner or tight s's.
whats not stock about it? 9psi is 1psi about safety boost bro, thats fair slow if you ask me, and even with the ecu upgrade, exhaust and fmic he won... its fair game i think, slower start, wheel spin and the rest. who gives a crap. we drive these boats cause we love em, who cares if they lose to V6 commos (lol n/a owners must hate that). atleast when you get out, you dont have a 3 year old shitrat hanging off your leg, a druged up 16 year old gf and a HSV jumper on. us zedders do it in style, in our porno looking limos. and further to that, drags are gay. touge it up!
Well, on the rationale of who won, or lost, then yes the (significantly) non-stock 300 got up. But once again the comparison is functionally useless other than both carry a name and a model designation that is common. Hey, why not chuck my ute in there. Its a V6 Nissan and only slightly modified....weighs about the same as these two.. produces a fair bit more power than both of them but.. that dun matter its a V6 Nissan so gotta be relevant!! yeah baby!!! E Hell, why not chuck in there a 4AGZE powered clubman as well...... Coz thats about as useful a "comparison" as this on is lmao!
That depends. does it have one of these in the tray beside the cattle dog? http://datsunpartsllc.com/cart/index.php?p=product&id=74&parent=8 Or one of these? http://www.sonnysracingengines.com/engines/sar-1005-2150-hp-new-for-2012
funny they bag the 240Z at last years nationals I think two 240Zs were quicker than any Z32 around wakefield
Ahh.... yes, but were they bog stock 240's driven by ordinary blokes? However, what the old cars have as close to half a tonne weight advantage over a TT 2+2 targa L8r E
