Geez I thought I was the only one to keep subs for that long. I have 2 10" JBL's and are still going strong.
for a cheap and decent sub look into morel. morel primo 10's are not too expensive and perform pretty good.. also with the freq response.. think of it this way.. it will play to say... 900hz. but will it sound any good? when you wire the sub up to the amp you lowpass the sub at about 80-150hz. so it doesnt really matter anyway. polk or morel will be my pick.
